NO on Dr. Ryan. If he's ever had passion or care as a physician helping people he's lost it. Didn't seem to care or listen. Dealing with 4 lumbar buldging disc. Go to Birmingham.
I just had an appointment with them this morning. I sat in the waiting room for an hour and 15 minutes. I still hadn’t been called. I went to the front desk to ask how long the wait was and they said they didn’t know. So I asked her I said well I know he has 4-5 waiting room back there so if he’s just spend 15 minutes with each person is gonna be another hour? So I asked her could you check and see how long the wait is? She comes back and doesn’t say anything to me and I have to ask her again. Then she says oh she has no idea. So the lack of customer or patient care is an huge issue for me. I just don’t feel like they care about me as a patient. If I can’t trust the doctor and I don’t feel comfortable there’s no way he’s doing spinal surgery on me.
They had a full waiting room with a 3-4 hr wait.. for patients with real pain that is excruciating! Thinking maybe he looks at the dollar not the client..4 hour wait to just get back!!
Guy did laminectomy on my back and damaged a nerves caused problems in my foot, my life has not been the same since. 5hen he lied about it. He then wanted to do spinal fusion. He gave me a book and told me to read it and if I had any questions call him. I never went back. Stay as far away from this guy as possible.
I back surgery and guy left me with nerve damage in my left foot and then denied it. The PA told me what happen but he was let go after that. Then the guy wants to do a fusion without any explanation. I left and went to UAB where doctors told me that i did need it. The guy also messed up my wife, she could not walk afterwards for a while and still is suffering from this doctor. Stay as far away from this guy as possible. Go to UAB or Andrews Clinic or Birmingham and find a good surgeon.
You will wait at least 1.5 hours after your appointment time to even go back to wait longer to see the doctor. Been twice and a doctor not respecting you time is a bad look. Especially when they have penalties for patients who do the same. STOP SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS 15 MIN APART!!
I had to wait for 3 hours past my appointment to see Dr. Ryan. He is a fantastic doctor but the office and scheduling is terrible!!! Top it off with trying to call the office to get test results and no one will answer the phone!
Dr. Ryan and his PA were fabulous! This was my first office visit. It was a wait but not a long wait being a first time patient. The receptionist was speedy in getting my paperwork in. Dr. Ryan put my mind at ease. A Doctor that’s knowledgeable! And I will follow Doctor’s orders.
Dr Ryan is the best neurosurgeon around! However, he has a new PA who called & knew nothing about my husband's case and an office manager who canceled surgery after we have waited 2 months because they didn't get release forns! We started 02/7/2022. Canceled 4/14/22. 😞 We're sad. Can't wait anymore. It took 6 weeks to get the first surgery date. GREAT DOCTOR!!!!
Besides waiting over 2 and a half hours just to be put in a room, Dr Ryan was to send me for back injections but sent me to a hip dr. for a Neurological problem and he had to send me for the injections. Big waste of time and money along with extra weeks of pain.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
