Only saw dr Lopez while hospitalized in jan when it was discovered I was in renal failure. It is here where I began dialysis. He was there every morning and evening the entire 9 days to check on me. When we got to know each other better I realized he had a sense of humor too. He could since how scared I was and cant Express how much his patience kindness and explaining things to me meant Now that I'm at a dialysis clinic he's not my doctor. I miss him to check on me every morning and evening. He seemed to understand how scared I was. He was very patient and kind to me and once we knew

Dr. Lopez is a wonderful highly intelligent caring doctor.I was a new patient & he took a long time going over my medical history,my needs &he asked questions I had never been asked by a doctor before.we discussed treatments I had undergone as well as new and up-and-coming treatments in the medical field. I truly believe he cares for each & every single one of his patients & he goes above and beyond to treat them in every way necessary.I did not wait long and his staff was extremely friendly.

The staff was fine, the office was fine, the wait time was fine. Dr. Lopez may even be a more than competent doctor. He did however write my prescription for 4 times the amouht of prednisone I was supposed to be taking. When I brought it to his attention at a follow up, he YELLED at me. That wasn't even the problem. I was diagnosed with renal failure and he told me he would be able to give me details after my biopsy. I was only in my 20's and eager for insight about my condition at the follow up. At that appointment, however, I waited over 20 minutes in the exam room and could hear a lengthy conversation he was engaging in about his sports car. No problem. But when he came into the exam room, he spent far less than 3 minutes reviewing my biopsy results and treatment plan. I figure if he has time to shoot the breeze about a car for 20 minutes, he can give a patient more than 3 to discuss such a diagnosis. He yelled at me again when I asked him questions pertaining to my follow up and treatment recommendations. Thankfully, I immediately began to seek care from another nephrologist and nearly 10 years later and doing better than ever. I value a doctor's knowledge, but would not recommend the compromise in care and communication the person offers. Everyone has a bad day, no doubt, but I caught him on at least 3 of them and never saw anything otherwise. Bedside manner, patience, compassion, and consideration were completely absent on each visit.
