List of Loren Mccoy's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr Loren for 20 years. Today I tried to get in to see Dr and was sent to a voice mail!!!! Called back and was put on hold for 25 minutes - still no answer Not a very professional experience I still don't know if I can see him today If I was not sick I would not be calling!!! Feel as though he no longer cares his older patients
Love the staff and they are so quick !!!
Outstanding practice in every manner. Dr. McCoy is thorough and engaging with his patients and his nurses are top notch. The administrative staff is always helpful and friendly. Billing is transparent and fair. Trust is important at every level when considering a physician and this practice hits all the marks.
Very poor service. I was referred by a family friend to Dr McCoys office. Upon making an appointment, I was told as a first time patient, I couldn’t even make an appointment without faxing or mailing in my first time patient forms. I’ve never heard of a doctors office doing this, but I complied and printed out the forms and faxed them in. I called the office as soon as I faxed my forms last Monday, and the office rep confirmed my first time patient forms were received and I would get a call back in a few days. One week later still nothing. I call their office again today to try and get an update and somehow the forms still haven’t been processed and this office rep says it’s a lengthy process and could take a few more days. I was not told it would take weeks before I could even be contacted for an appointment set up. I was recently diagnosed with IBD and don’t have time for this office to maybe get back to me. I need a PCP asap. At the very least, someone could have given me a courtesy call to inform me that the office was behind/delayed OR be honest that they don’t have time to accept new patients if the can’t get back to patients in a timely manner. I could have found another doctor’s office by now to be prescribed the medication I need so I don’t end up in the hospital again. In addition, their office hours online are wrong. It says they are open M-F 8am-5pm. They are actually closed for 2 hours for lunch everyday, and I found that out the hard way. Disappointing experience to say the least.
New patient registration form must be faxed, physically mailed, or physically delivered. I'm guessing they have no internet here because email is specifically not allowed.
Five stars are not enough! Dr. McCoy & his staff set examples of what medical professionals should aspire to be, in my mind. I recently became a Medicare recipient, & after having no insurance for many years, I was ready, & my body agreed! The first two doctors I called were not taking new Medicare patients, but my third call to Dr. McCoy gave me my first PCP in years, & the lady who scheduled me was so wonderful to me over the phone that I felt confident even before I met the doctor! She offered to mail paperwork to me so that I wouldn't have to fill them out in the office, & sure enough, papers did come! I was in pain & anguish from multiple issues, stressed from not knowing, you know, I know some of y'all do! My blood pressure was pretty high & my heart was racing, beating abnormally, my veins we're busting & bruised, my breathing was ragged & wheezy, I was coughing to beat the band, totally exhausted from fighting pain--I was in a mess & I believe my body was about to balk big time. Dr. Mccoy wasted no time after listening carefully to me about my health issues. Blood was drawn & urine sample, an EKG, pulmonary function test & then breathing treatment, chest x-ray, imaging tests, abdominal ultrasounds of multiple organs, heart stress test, bone density test...gosh, I hope I haven't forgotten anything, LOL! I was at his office & testing facility over four hours! I have NEVER been treated with so much care & compassion by any physician or staff in my entire life, seriously, from my heart I tell everyone this truth. Every lady that worked on me was an earth angel! They didn't know me from Eve, but treated me like family, & the tears I cried we're indeed tears of pure joy. Dr. McCoy has my full confidence & respect without any doubt or hesitation. Since this first experience, I have gotten answers, & I am feeling so much better, & I'm thanking Jesus for His blessed "tools" Dr. McCoy & staff. Again, they didn't know me, that I listen & watch for signs from my Jesus, yet the room I was assigned to was room 3! Remember, I wrote above that he was the 3rd call? I get glorious goose-bumps at those signs telling me that I was in the right doctor's office for divine help! 3 days later Jesus was resurrected, many of y'all know, & I truly believe! My follow-up appointment was just as peaceful & amazingly lovely, & I waited in MY room 3! I will testify to anyone who wants this kind of experience that Dr. McCoy & staff are the REAL DEAL! On a scale of 10, these wonderous medical professionals are a 20, & I'll amen to that!
I am a new patient of Dr. Loren McCoy (May 2020). He showed an engaging “bedside manner”: he interacted with me in a pleasant way, patiently listened and responded to my various concerns, did a thorough assessment, and connected me with a specialist to have a needed procedure performed. The staff in general at the Avalon Medical Group were all pleasant, organized, and very efficient. The facilities are new. They do various sorts of lab work in house; so, I was able to have a chest x-ray and blood work done and Dr. McCoy was able to discuss it with me during the same visit. Based upon the discussion we were having, Dr. McCoy wanted to do an additional blood test; he called over to the in-house lab where I had already given my blood to request it and shortly was able to discuss the result with me. This seemed very efficient to me. I was highly satisfied by the service provided by the facility and Dr. McCoy!
Very good

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
