List of Joseph Ceravolo's Reviews
I went her for cataract surgery and they lied to me about the price. They told me a number I’d be responsible for, and I paid it, then I get another bill in the mail, they hadn’t pre-approved it with the insurance so I had to iron all of that out afterwards. Now the bills just keep coming. Don’t go here. The staff was incompetent medically as well. They would have given me an entirely wrong lens if I hadn’t been lucky enough to catch them trying to measure my right eye twice instead of once with the left and once with the right.
After visiting Dr. Ceravolo's office twice, he is losing my trust. He wrote on my medical record that I got glaucoma - phase 2. He warned me that he must treat me with a Lasik surgery; otherwise, I will be blind. I went to UAB's eye hospital to see another ophthalmologist for a second opinion. After a thorough exam, the ophthalmologist confirmed that I don't have glaucoma at all. If you are diagnosed with glaucoma by Dr. Ceravolo, you should seek a second opinion from another ophthalmologies.
The staff is incompetent. My family member was provided no information for the procedures he performed on my relative. Even with issues he experienced, he did not seek a second opinion. My relative is still unable to see. I will never go back and would not recommend this practice to anyone.
DR C PERFORMED LASIK ON ME AND MY RESULTS AND EXPERIENCE WERE GREAT FROM BEGINNING TO END!! VERY EXPERIENCED
VERY PROFESSIONAL DR AND HIS STAFF
I had cataract surgery over a year ago. I opted to pay extra for the bi-focal lens. After the surgery, everything was blurry. I was sent to a retina specialist who said my retina was fine. Dr. Ceravolo then did Lasix & when that didn't work, did a YAG procedure. I still was not seeing well. He said I had dry eyes & would plug my tear ducts. I had enough so I went for a 2nd opinion. The new doctor said my problem was astigmatism. After another procedure to correct the vision I see 20/20.
He is always so helpful and he explains things to me where i can understand. His staff is WONDERFUL!!!!
Was kept waiting 1.5 hour after appointment time. No sorry, no excuse. If you don't have anything to do with your life ,this is a great place to waste it. Was last patient of the day after having a 1:30 appointment. Was dismissed before regaining my faculties. Guess every one wanted to go home. Would not suggest to a friend, might send someone i did not like.
Dr Ceralvolo is the best eye doc in this area and one of the best I have ever been to. He was able to diagnose me accurately unlike other docs who could care less what type glaucoma I had. He also helped me ditch the eye drops with the laser procedure which no one told me about until I saw him. He's quick, accurate and knows his stuff.
Saw him once for a last minute procedure a few years back Bc he was on call. He was rude and upset that he had to see me after closing hours. ended up having a cyst drained off my eye. 3 days later I was hospitalized after contracting MRSA staph infection from his facility. when I informed him that I thought it was infected, he took off the bandage and said i was fine when Obviously I wasn't. The next day was when I was admitted by more responsible and reliable physcisian.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
