Canterbury Health Care Facility's Online Review Report Card

My husband was admitted there on the rehabilitation side on 4/14/22. He was sent with orders of care but no medicine orders for the pharmacy or orders for the equipment he needed. He was sent after 4 pm when the staff had who handles that had already left for the day. Canterbury had notified the hospital that they were taking him but needed 24 to 48 to get all the things prepared for his stay and the hospital sent him over anyway. The staff immediately stepped up and took control of the situation and did the best they could under the circumstances. They got him a room and a bed. Made sure he had his insulin but that is all the medicine they could provide, made sure he was comfortable, made sure he had food.They kept watch to make sure he was okay till staff arrived in the morning to get the whole mess straightened out. They got him his medications, connected all his wires and pumps, and accommodated him any way he needed. They had to contact his doctors and the facility doctor but finally got all his things going like it should have been if the hospital had only waited 24 hours to send him.They have been nothing but nice and have been taking good care of him most of the time. The reason for only 4 stars is that he does not care for the food when the regular cook (chef) is not there. He likes all the nurses, therapy staff, social worker, cleaning and maintenance staff, and the review staff, the driver seems nice but talks too much.This place has received a lot of bad reviews but I think there are a lot of good ones out there that should have been posted. But I guess people don't have the time or just don't care.

Had my Mom removed by ambulance due to neglect/injury. Poor care and certainly no skilled nursing. Mostly trainee CNA's. Not enough staff and covid protocols not followed. Soiled linens left in room. Very poor housekeeping. Check out other poor reviews which are sadly true.

Worst place in the world. Do not take your loved one there. I noticed if you cant feed yourself to bad . Z

Our family member was 1000000% neglected. That place needs to be SHUT down and the head nurse there was pathetic and rude. I believe with my WHOLE heart they kept her medication from her. Never got rehab like she was supposed to. Never even got checked on unless we were there and MADE them. That place is a disgrace to poor old people. They deserve so much better when they reach that time in their lives. I HATE that place. Neverrrr take a loved one there. They just want your money. They do not care about your loved one

If you are having to consider a skilled nursing facility for a family member or anyone for that matter please avoid this place! There are no nursing home rehabs with good ratings, but this has to be the worst in the area! The staff in this place, specially on the rehab unit, will not answer questions, make excuses for poor neglectful care of patients. We have experienced the supervising RN’s in the building to lie to our faces and make insulting comments to my mom. Everything seems to go somewhat smooth and staff are more friendly and helpful during the day, but as soon as the weekly 8-4 staff leaves for the evening and the weekend nothing, but rude and disrespectful staff. I just hope that something that I will be able to say or do will prevent another patient from experiencing the same poor, neglectful care in this facility.

I would never go back there's again.The care is not there.And I got the virus when I was there.Never again.

Worst place ever. The neglect and level of not caring for residents is astounding. Would not recommend for anyone to spend a single minute there. If I could give a negative rating I would. Elderly residents deserve better.

Whatever you do, don't send your family member to this facility. My husband received virtually no care while he was there and when I would speak to one of the staff, they would basically lie to me about what his current medical condition was and what treatment they were giving him. I had heard horrible things about this place, but because I was desperate, I sent him there anyway. Don't make the same mistake.

My mother is always going on about a girl named Anna who works in the kitchen my mother told me the Anna always makes sure that everyone has snacks no matter how busy she is she will stop what she's doing to take care of everyoneTHANK YOU Anna!!!
