Kate Gates's Online Review Report Card

I have to agree with some of the not so positive reviews. When I first met her a few years ago she was friendly and attentive. Now, besides having to wait forever for an appointment (weeks-months), she is rushed, dismissive and not very attentive. I have to call back for important test results only to find that she had received them weeks earlier and no one called to set up an appointment to tell me. I miss my former GP who retired 5 years ago after decades of practice. There was a true service and caring that seems missing today.

Went in to get MRI scheduled, 9 months later still no MRI certain she never even booked one for me and i haven’t got any follow up. When i brought this to her attention she was shocked i haven’t got it, as if she wouldn’t receive the results. needed to be prescribed a cream and she had to google it, ended up giving me wrong one which burnt my eyelid. Feels so rushed and she doesn’t care about her patients one bit.

Horrible. Impossible to make an appt. No follow up after tests. No organization in the office at all. Bit off more than they can chew with the new business plan imo.

Dr K. Gates-Manhas is one of the best family doctor I have since moved here 10 years ago, and also among the 3 provinces I've been. She's knowledgeable, helpful and exemplifies what an ideal family doctor can be. The staff are welcoming and warm making the visit nothing but a positive experience. What can I tell you about my vascular surgeon and physician, Dr. Kate Gates, DO? She is simply, one of the most attentive and caring physicians I have ever encountered and she changed my life for the better, in ways I can never fully express my gratitude. I absolutely adore her and consider myself so fortunate to be in her care. At 56 years of age, I experienced the vascular injury ramifications of a motorcycle accident 25 years earlier. I had lost most of the blood flow in my left arm and there was a very real prospect of potentially losing my arm. Dr. Gates took over management of my care and I am forever grateful to her. My diagnosis was bleak and the needed repair was insanely complex and was in uncharted waters due to its highly unusual origin and condition. Nothing about my case was quick or ordinary and solving my problems required innovative thinking and intricate detailed decisions every step of the way. Suffice it to say that I was not going to make it easy on any physician or surgeon with my situation. My injury and the surgical repair necessary, was as difficult as it comes. In every step of my several months long path with her, Dr. Gates has never let up or wavered, never exhibited anything other than professionalism, respect, grace, poise, and straightforward direct answers. This has been constantly coupled with her ever-present bright eyed smile and gentle reassuring touch, to assuage my fears. Dr. Gates understands bedside manner and she excelled at easing my terrified mind. Her very presence instilled confidence and hope in my life. Justifiably so. After literally months of very careful testing, diagnostics, and diagnostic surgery to determine the best course of action to heal me, three days ago she performed reconstructive surgery on me for 8+ hours, and through her excellent skills, she reconstructed the blood flow back to my arm. (I underwent an insanely complex carotid to subclavian bypass procedure on a 25+ year old injury). God bless Dr. Gates for her unwavering commitment to helping me, her refreshing disposition and display of the human side of a physician, and her calmness and professionalism every step of the way of a many months long journey to get here. Dr. Gates is a true diamond and if you are lucky enough to be in her care, I would be proud and confident to tell you that you are being treated by one of the very best physicians you could ask for. Dr. Gates gave me my life back and I am so grateful for her exceptional care. Truly. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Dr. Gates. ❤️

Great Doctor, and couldn't be happier with the entire process

Unfortunately agree with previous comments and I hope Manhas medical starts actually caring for patients. Dr Katie Manhas is never available. She is booked 2 month in advance. I see different doctor every time and have no continuity. It is sad because I really liked Katie.

If you are searching for a vascular doctor, let this be your sign! Dr. Gates is amazing in so many ways! She was a breath of fresh air after so many dead end doctor visits. She takes the time to understand your symptoms and creates a plan of care to make sure you are being treated properly as a whole. We found her one visit had more answers (and hope for relief) than we have found in the past year and a half of my health journey. I am so thankful for her, the knowledge she posses, and her ability to see me as not just a patient but a human being in front of her needing help.

First visit with Dr. Gates - front desk was nice - no waiting - and the doctor was very attentive and concerned for my condition! I will be using her again !
