List of Parvez Sultan's Reviews
I am an RN with almost 50 years of service. Following a routine cardiac cath by my cardiologist, Dr. Sultan was consulted and a week later performed a quadruple bypass and aortic valve replacement at St. Vincent Medical Ctr. The surgery went very well and the post op care I received in CCU was tremendous. Dr. Sultan himself is a man of few words but I believe his skills as a cardiothoracic surgeon are as good as anyone in and around Birmingham. Dr. Sultan's staff was courteous and attentive. I would not hesitate in recommending Dr. Sultan to anyone.
Excellent.Dr. Sultan treated me for heart and lung infection at St. Vincent's,Birmingham. Very good doctor and kind,
Never saw me in the Hospital after, my heart surgery.(No Explanation.) He "Refused" to see me (3) months after my heart surgery for the (Follow-up) Visits. Instead, he used his NP to treat my Wounds and try to answer some of my questions. (Questions still have NOT been answered.) Finally, (3)months after the heart surgery, my Vein Wound site (Reopened). He decided to Wait and treat my (Leg) with antibiotics at home. I reported my (Leg Pain) became Worse and (Blister's ) began to appearing in and around my Vein Wound site. On the next Follow-Up visit, his PA saw and suggested I needed another Surgery on my leg. (He had me WAIT from April 5th to April 30th is when he finally did the surgery. Strange thing happened, I was Scheduled for Surgery at(5:00am) on April 30th, but he had me WAIT until, after 10:30am to be taken into Surgery. (Again No Explanation and No Hospital Visits!) No Bedside Manner, No Questions Answered, Nothing ! What kind of doctor treats his Patients like this ?
This is a sorriest doctor because he said one of my closest bubba pawpaw was gonna live then 2 months later he said he is gonna die
He did an awesome job with robotic surgery, removal of upper right lung. BUT, he’s always late! Three hours late for initial appointment. Scheduled surgery for 7 AM I had to be there at 5 AM. Got there and set in waiting room until after 9. At 10:30 was taken back to prep area. He didn’t start surgery until after 1PM. Saw him for about 5 minutes in my hospital room next morning. Does NOT have good bedside manner. Evidently good surgeon but very poor communication skills. Didn’t even show up for follow up appointment. That was handled by his nurse practitioner.
TERRIBLE bedside manner, do not recommend!
Excellent Surgeon. He did 5 bypasses on a relative of mine. His patients are very high risk. My family member has done very well.
He did a great job on my Dad's lung and was very personable. He also answered all our questions and explained the procedure thoroughly.
After two years complaining about a loose sternum Dr Sultan described to me a "ten minute" operation to pull wires and plate the sternum. Botched the job and spent ten days in CICU at another hospital.
I would never recommend him to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
