Madey Steven's Online Review Report Card

Based on the few negative reviews I have read here, I will say this: I don't care that Dr. Madey is busy, concise or informal. He's a nice, incredibly talented guy doing important and challenging work. He saved my hand, which was a mess and executed the surgery perfectly. What more can one ask for? I am grateful.

8 years ago I was in a accident near Portland Oregon, Dr Madey saved my arm when other Dr's recommended amputation, people tell me now that if not for hearing my story they would have not known that I was injured,I know and feel the affects of my accident every day but would have been much worse if not for this amazing man, life is good thanks to him.

Doctor walked in late and was texting. We spoke for maybe 30 seconds before he left the room and he sent his nurse in to remove my stitches. She used dull scissors and ripped the first stitch out, then she used a scalpel and yanked the remaining stitches out. They didn’t dress my hand and sent me out with an open wound. I’ve since found another orthopedic surgeon for my future appointments.

Kaiser couldn't see me for 14 days after an accident with a power saw. Dr Madey saw me just four days after my emergency room discharge. He was generous with his time and seemed genuinely concerned at the Kaiser ineptitude.Good doctor as far as I can tell but unless you are in the profession...

You couldn't ask for a better Doctor.

Dr. Madey has been my Dr. for many years always a miracle worker.I had a major accident at work..and Dr. Madey put me back together. If it hurts... He can fix it!!! And the staff treats me great. Blessed to have them on my team!

After my son accidentally (I think) slammed my hand in the car door, I contacted Dr. Madey as I wanted to be sure it wasn't broken. I received a call within 15 minutes and he was willing to see me within an hour. This was after hours, so I really appreciated the service. Administrative staff also kind and professional.

My experience with Dr Madey was unpleasant and unsatisfactory. He simply was non-responsive leaving me in the air (and in pain). My MRI for my hamstring injury was delivered to him Wed afternoon but he did not respond that day nor the next day, Thursday. All of my calls to Dr Madey and/or his team left me in voicemail. I finally spoke with a receptionist at GoToOrtho who told me I should expect a call from Dr Madey the next day, Friday. I never heard from him but did receive a call from a doctor's assistance who left a message that I am free to contact their office the following Monday.

I am so thankful for Dr. Madey. My son was involved in a tragic accident where a mortar blew apart his right hand; he had no bone in his thumb Or aide of his hand. I know most were talking about amputation upon arrival but Dr Madey wanted to try and save what he could, since he is so young. We are three surgeries in and have a long way to go but Dr Madey has been a wonderful communicator and we are so thankful he took the time. We are exhausted and scared but he has given us hope and we feel so blessed he was available to help!

It’s taken me awhile to review Dr. Steven Madey & I actually called to speak with him before posting. But he screens through admins so here we go... I’m an Acupuncturist and Dr. Steven Madey was highly recommended through colleagues. I saw him for pain in my wrist at the tendon. After waiting 45min to be seen, he sent me to X-ray on-site. Then confirms it’s a “calcified tendon” giving me 2 options: wear a brace or get surgery. That was June 2018. I saw another doctor who used ultrasound (best for seeing tendons. X-ray better for bones). He saw a slight tear in the tendon. Got MRI to confirm. Sure enough, it was a TEAR. This is my dominant hand & I use it for work as an Acupuncturist. Vital it be taken care of correctly because of my livelihood. I called his office to let him know & sent him MRI. NO RESPONSE. And he was well compensated for the 10 min he saw me; coding my office visit for more time than he spent at the visit & was paid in full by insurance.
