Dr Wood is a great physician a good listener. But scheduling an appointment is terrible when you are sick the wait time is more the a week. I know that she is busy and can understand that but established patients should not have to wait so long. Its hard to communicate when the appt.staff is in mobile and you see her in Daphne that is totally wrong. The girls behind the desk in Daphine know you and should make the appts. Her Pa needs to be a little more delicate .
My wife had blood drawn and had a reaction from the process which lead to a swollen arm, was painful and made her light headed few hours after leaving the office. Called and left a message with the doctors office as we were worried of what was causing it....no return call. As a husband I was also a patient but received not the kind of attention I was looking for. I dont think Ms Woods has privileges at Thomas Hosp and that is not good for us.
All of the staff are great except her nurse who was very condiscending to me on the phone today. I have been a patient of Dr. Wood for over 7 years and just love her. I have never had to wait for an appointment when sick until today. Her nurse wanted to farm me off to one of her partners when I said I was sick and needed to see her before 2 weeks. I had to suggest to her nurse that if someone cancelled with an earlier appointment could they call me. Nurse said could see someone in Mobile.
I needed to establish with the new physician on the Eastern shore, looked on my companies insurance approved physician list and found she was rated highly. It was easy to make an initial appointment and the wait was tolerable. Dr. Wood herself is very personable and is a good listener. Since Im getting pretty old, I suspect shell be my physician for the rest of my life.
