NOT recommended! My father had a set back when one of his physicians (Polkinghorn is the director) made an error in his treatment and rather that deal with it, he sent us to another facility! Most unfavorable outcome.

Dr. Polkinghorn treated my husband, Steve, for Hodgkin's Disease 30 years ago, in Rancho Mirage, CA. Steve is still in remission. He is the best Oncologist. Thank you Dr. Polkinghorn!! God bless you always!! Kathryn

Dr Polkinghorn insisted my friend’s pancreatic tumor was VERY localized at 2 1/2 centimeters On oct 20 after a PET scan. This was very wrong. And seriously misleading

I have a very rare cancer and Dr. Polkinghorn was very open to let Boston take the driver's seat. He spread out my treatments so to make them more tolerable but still got my necessary dossage . He has been nothing but kind and supportive all along they way. I am now in a happy normal range and doing well. Hope he stays at Cancer Center for many more years to come.

I have to say I got told in Brewer Maine 4 years ago I had 3 to 6 months to live!When going down to Dr. Polkinghorn he gave me a total different out look on life that yes what I have for cancer is not curable but it is definitely treatable, and I am going on 6 years and still here... Actually currently I am taking a break off treatment because my cancer was at bay not growing staying the same so he told me to do what I wanted and I am had scan since still the same! He is not like your regular standard oncologist he is absolutely amazing he puts his heart and sole into his patients and when I am there he makes you feel like I am one of his children and he builds me up there is no other Doctor like him for sure!

He was my spouse's oncology doctor for several years. I don't think he ever actually read the chart and was often clueless regarding things already discussed. Scary to think he is the medical director as he has NO patient compassion whatsoever!
