Ann Mowat's Online Review Report Card

I had a painful arthritis flare on my left wrist with a painful red hard  lump that came up overnight after three days of wrist swelling and pain.  Ann did extra acupuncture on it and the same hour lump was down.  By 2-3 hours later ... this hard lump was more down and no pain. Today 24 hours later  all of it is almost resolved. No redness No pain or swelling and can I can move my wrist normally. I am thankful for Ann just being herself.  Her loving nonjudgmental and open self makes the  energy of acupuncture provided by her wonderfully therapeutic. I love this quick affirmation of my arthritis flare on my wrist that was painful and hard to move is essentially resolved.   I already had faith in the process of acupuncture and in Ann to provide it .... and that was affirmed today for me. I went to Ann for treatment of a swollen and painful Achilles tendon ahead of the Western States 100 mile trail run in June. I had never been treated by acupuncture and had no opinion about the likelihood of success. I was just willing to try anything because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to complete my dream race because of this injury. Thanks to Ann's treatment, it worked out amazingly well!! I saw Ann three times, and each time it felt a little bit looser and more comfortable. The best part was that during the race it didn't really bother me at all!! Plenty of other things hurt by the end but that Achilles tendon was fine, and I finished the race and in a time that I was proud of! Ann has my highest respect and recommendation.

I just read all 27 of Ann's 5-star reviews, and I full-heartedly agree with every word of praise. She is simply incredible! I first saw Ann because of a recent yoga injury (labrum tear). I had seen an orthopedic surgeon who ordered an MRI and diagnosed the injury. He believed it could be managed/improved without surgery, so he recommended physical therapy. After several months of PT, I really wasn't noticing any improvement. I was beginning to think I would just have to live with my injury, which made me feel frustrated and depressed. (I am a yoga instructor, so yoga is a huge part of my life.) A very good friend suggested I see Ann. This friend had raved about Ann for as long as I'd known her, but I never really considered acupuncture as a form of self-care. But I was desperate, so why not??? All I can say is that I am SO GLAD I went to see Ann!! She has healed me in so many ways, and after 4 weekly sessions, my hip is back at baseline (how it was pre-injury). In the meantime, I had all this other stress and chaos going on in my life, and a couple of times I went to see Ann in tears. After every session, I felt renewed and refreshed. She really is an incredible human being and a gifted healer, and I will continue to see her on a regular basis because I find it even more beneficial than massages. ANN HAS MADE ME A BELIEVER!!!

Words are awesome, results are amazing! Meaning the words I would use are awesome, caring, wonderful experience. The results that are amazing include going from I cannot walk to walking after one treatment. I was in Austin and walking on Red River road when a crack in the sidewalk caught me by surprise. It went pop! Surge of pain! Cannot walk! My knee was in so much pain. I flagged a pedicab ride to my hotel and started looking for someone who could treat me. Even though her schedule was booked Anne fit me in the next day and each hour after I saw her there was slow improvement and by the next morning when I went for second treatment I was moving. Slowly but without pain. If I lived here I would go weekly - she treated my pain but also my distress, calmly, clearly and helpfully she was there for me. The office is beautiful and not far from downtown core- I went by pedicab each time and enjoyed the ride. If you think acupuncture might be for you (not something I've done much of before) or have something that needs healing and support - I say go to 512Wellness! For sure!

I was referred to Ann by a dear friend. She and her husband were trying to get pregnant for months with no luck and after two sessions with Ann, they were suddenly expecting. I visited her for the same reason and within two sessions I too was pregnant! Throughout early pregnancy, Ann balanced my hormones and helped me deal with nausea.  As I progressed, I had a severe carpal tunnel flare up (I guess it is common during pregnancy?) which she also helped me through. I am very grateful for Ann's nurturing, thorough and intuitive care; she genuinely cares for each of her clients.  Her office is also a lovely cozy spot for a midday acupuncture nap :). I couldn't recommend her more. Thank you Ann for helping my family grow, we are very excited!

Not to sound dramatic, but my experience with Ann was life changing. I had never done acupuncture before, but 2 friends saw Ann and told me I needed to give her a try for my anxiety and digestive issues. Wow were they right! The  morning of my first appointment I was feeling very under the weather, exhausted from a night of no sleep, stomach was very sour, my entire body ached...I was dreading the appointment because all I wanted to do was go to sleep. Ann was so warm and friendly, and she did a great job explaining to me what she was going to do and why acupuncture works, etc. She made me feel calm and understood, and I wasn't nervous about the needles (which I barely felt at all) because she helped me feel so relaxed. After we were done, I literally felt a like a brand new person. Ann even said I looked "sparkly". I felt like I'd slept 100 years, my body aches were totally gone...it was incredible. Words cannot describe how much Ann helped me in just one day, I cannot wait to see how I feel and where I'm at in a a couple months.

I have been seeing Ann for many years and she is absolutely amazing.  Her clinic is a true sanctuary and I always leave there feeling calm and balanced. Ann is so knowledgeable, is truly gifted and just being in her presence has a healing effect- probably because she is one of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever met. She's helped me through extreme anxiety, hormone issues and adrenal fatigue and I continue to see her as part of my self-care maintenance. I cannot recommend her enough. Thanks for taking care of me these past 8 years Ann. I appreciate you more than words can say.

If you looked up the word HEALER in the dictionary, it might very well say Ann Mowat.I have been seeing Ann for more than 5 years, the beginning of which was perhaps one of my very lowest points. But since then, Ann has helped facilitate my reach toward many of my highest ones. I will be forever grateful for her gifts. Her treatments are gentle, like she is, yet incredibly powerful ... just like she is. And it seems that there isn't anything she can't help with. Anxiety, stress, pain, addiction, fatigue ... anything that ails you, she can treat. I will always be grateful for Ann, and I will continue my path with her on my road to wellness (which never really ends, does it?) for as long as she will have me.

Before visiting Ann, I had never experienced acupuncture and wasn't sure if it was for me or if it could solve all my problems, but I was encouraged to give acupuncture a try after a coworker told me of her own experience.  I found Ann on Yelp and after reading all her wonderful reviews, I knew she'd be a good fit.I've been seeing Ann regularly since July and she really has changed my life in so many ways! I came to her originally because I had experienced years of stomach aches and bloating and had recently become very irritable and had trouble breathing . Within a few weekly, sessions she helped resolve all of these issues. We then moved on to tackle general sleep issues, stress and a long lasting sciatica issue. I now visit Ann on a regular basis, consult her for supplement advice and truly value her insight into how and why my body may be reacting a certain way and how acupuncture can help bring it all back into balance.I always look forward to seeing Ann and cannot recommend her enough!
