List of Tina Kay Merritt's Reviews
Dr. Merritt is everything a doctor should be. She makes sure all of my other doctors get her notes without anyone asking her to. She sends me all of her notes which really helps because when you are at an appointment you don't always remember everything. She is like a detective when trying to figure out what is wrong. She isn't afraid to ask all the questions and do the tests. She knows what she is an expert in and if she needs to refer to another doctor she will. She doesn't try to fix a problem she isn't a specialist in. I never feel rushed and she is very kind. She gets me right in if I have a problem. She cares about her patient and their needs.
Amazing, caring Dr.!!!! Highly recommend!!! She knows what she's talking about!!!
She’s a miracle worker. If it wasn’t for Tina and her staff. I’d probably be dead or crazy ill.
Two of my specialists sent referrals in May. I finally got a call about four weeks ago only to be told Dr Merritt doesn’t treat mast cell disorders. I told the woman who called that I was not referred there for my mast cell disorder, I was referred there specifically for her expertise in Alpha Gal because I have a negative blood test but I have been on Xolair for months, I take multiple antihistamines a day, and I have B+ blood. My allergist agreed to refer me to Dr Merritt for her expertise because until two months ago when I cut mammal out, I had daily reactions usually about 3 hours after eating mammal and carrageenan. The woman who called told me she would need to send a note back to Dr Merritt but it would be about two weeks until I heard back. I’ve still not heard back so I guess if you have mast cell activation and alpha gal triggered by a tick bite, find another provider because they evidently won’t help you here.
Dr Merritt is my son Noah's Immunologist .She is caring compassionate and on the ball with follow ups. Sends you Notes of the summary which is extremely appreciated as I tend to miss things or forget in phone calls or tele visits. Highly recommend Dr Merritt.
PLEASE READ THIS!!! If I had had to wait 6 months to be seen by Dr. Merritt, it would be WORTH IT. But I did NOT have to wait. Just 3 weeks after my referral was sent, I am having a telehealth visit with whom I have determined to be one of the best doctors in America! WHY do I say that and upon WHAT is that remark based? My true experience is related below. 20 years ago I found myself living in Virginia, 38 miles from the University of Virginia. I had several anaphylactic episodes and needed to find an outstandingly physician. The UV medical library had a book entitled "The Best Doctors in America" and in it is where I found Dr. Thomas Platt-Mills of the UV Allergy and Immunology Clinic. Once there, he introduced me to his accompanying "fellows' (medical doctors who made the cut to participate in this fellowship program), one of whom was Dr Merritt. He assigned me to her and the outcome was profound. Only until recently, I have not had an anaphylactic event thanks to their expertise. That's 20 years, people! Returning to Arkansas in 2016, I got many tick bites, and in March 2021 I was diagnosed with Alpha-Gal by my primary doc. I was referred to Dr Merritt and had my first visit with her in this area. Just as before, I received an excellent and thorough consultation and we charted a path for my health. My point is that Dr. Tina Merritt is truly a cut -above, stellar physician just as excellent as Dr Platt-Mills! When you are in her care, you are indeed being treated by one of the best doctors in America. NWA is BLESSED to have her!
My daughter had been specifically referred to see Dr. Merritt by her PCP back in January but the referral ended up going to a different allergist. Since she was getting ready to go back to campus, she went ahead and saw the other allergist. Unfortunately, he did not diagnose her with AG and told her she needed to be seen by GI...again. After reading posts here and in other AG groups, we found out she could have a negative AG test but still have it. She has been eating an AG diet and has had little to no problems. We asked her PCP to send another referral over to Dr. Merritt so she could be seen as soon as she gets back from school. Our PCP messaged us to let us know the referral had gone through and within a week or so we got a message from Dr. Merritt's office. As a 19-year old will do, my daughter put off calling until this morning. She was rudely told they had no record of the call, the only referral they had was from January, and that she needed to go back to her PCP for another one. The referral from January was the one our PCP re-sent. My daughter was very upset about the experience when she called to let me know she finally called the office. So, I called the office...there was a nice lady that answered the call. I explained what happened with the referral and that it had been re-sent and that my daughter did not have a nice experience when she called. I was put on hold for a few minutes, when the lady came back she said another lady had already spoken to my daughter and she had everything she needed to know, "it was taken care of." Since it obviously was not taken care of I was put on hold again to speak with the office manager. While on hold, my call was disconnected. I don't know who my daughter spoke to, I don't know who I spoke to, I don't know who the office manager is...but, I am very upset at the way we were treated. I had heard so many great things about Dr. Merritt and really wanted my daughter to see her. I hope no one else has had to experience anything like this while dealing with her office. As far as I know, Dr. Merritt was not one of the people I spoke to, however, her staff is a direct reflection on her. Unprofessional and just plain rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
