List of Marsha Smith's Reviews
Went to see this doctor for Botox injections for multiple sclerosis . My first visit I was unsure as this is a new process to me. I left and I talked with other medical professionals that I’ve known for years, and they recommended I try it. . On my second visit All she did was badger me about why I waited and trusted the opinion of others, She had a resentful attitude, She did NOT show compassion or provide details about the Botox process to put me ease. Also there seems to be confusion with her medical staff tried to book me with appointments that I did not make !
Cannot believe how this woman treated me. I fell and hit my head on a forklift. because of not seeing a brain bleed, fracture or fluid so sent me on to pain management. told me it was migranes. I am seeing another specialist who is baffled she just pushed me away. very insensitive to my description on what was going on, let comments on my chart about me personally. DISGUSTED WITH HER. ZERO STARS
She was rude never let me ask questions and rushed me out of her office like my being there was an inconvenience to her never read my chart and acted as if I was untruthful with my information I gave her never even looked at me then told me to go see someone else and then just left the room ... very disappointing to me and my husband...
Dr. Marsha Smith is a fantastic neurologist. She really listens, then explains treatment options, process, timing, and what to expect. I saw her for hemofacial spasms and finally feel like someone can help. Many thanks to both Dr. Smith and her assistant, Lindsay. Highly recommend for neurological issues.
This physician is refusing to provide results and labs to our Primary Care provider after being told at the appointment that they would be provided. She does not care about the patient. Only making money and billing insurance.
Dismissed us, did not take history or ask about symptoms. limited exam. ordered labs and testing and results were never made available to us or PCM. Calls result in voicemails. No customer service.
I would give less but since I can't...Rude and insensitive. Never took time to read my chart and she had plenty time. She was covering while Gretchen was on maternity leave. Never talked to me face to face. Upset me so bad I never went back to the office. People in Portsmouth, OH really don't have a choice in neurologist. I am glad I now live in a city with more doctors to choose from.
I'm the type of person that usually likes everyone. This doctor didn't even try to make eye contact me. She asked the questions on her paper and checked the usual vitals. I felt like I was dealing with a robot. No personality or smile and a horrible bed-side manner. She seemed like she was there to do as little as possible and get out of the room as quick as possible. I have nerve damage in my neck and possibly in my lower back as well. She ordered an MRI, said she couldn't help me and referred me to a bone doctor. Hello, I clearly have bulging and slipped disc in my neck according to the other MRI's I had done by other Neuro surgeons. I do not recommend this doctor at all. She was awful!
She is the rudest doctor I have ever come across. She didn't listen to me and after being treated for over 40yrs for a neurological disorder she claimed I was only looking to treat pain. She made me feel awful and did not listen to a word I said. Go to someone else!!!!
I was placed with doctor Smith's office after being released from s.o.m.c. . Only saw Gretchen Horner for the first several visits. She wouldn't listen to me about what I was going thru. This ended in an argument. Finally dr.smith took time to see me. She used dr.horners notes to help me ( which we're lacking). She sent me thru physical therapy twice, speech therapy, and pain management, when nothing helped then she claimed it was psychological..I'm not crazy! I ask for a prognosis because it was an accident that wasn't my fault and they need to at least pay the hospital bills( to which is never ending). She mailed it to me. Reading it proved she hadn't listened nor bothered to read the notes from other doctors involved. She said she talked at length to me and my husband( I always took someone with me because my memory isn't what it was) this was not true. She stated most patients suffering from a concussion we're healed at this point but couldn't understand why I wasn't...maybe we don't all fit in a box! She went on to state that the pain management doctor would have to give my prognosis, she'd only wrote to appease my lawyer's. Wouldn't recommend her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
