had a very disappointing visit. :-( after an abnormal echo (I found out it was abnormal a month after when the NP called to schedule my heart cath. After my cath, I suffered severe pain in that arm, was sent for a doppler, and after two days of calling everyone, (I had “no radial artery located”, so hitch means the whole radial artery was occluded. I did my own studies before finally getting a call from the nurse that “this happens all the time”. That’s all the explanation I received. If you look up “radial artery occlusion”, it tells you that severity is based on symptoms. He didn’t ask nor care about symptoms. It doesn’t happen “all the time” when researched. The fact that he said that when I’m fact it’s “1-10%” of the time., is scary in itself. This can cause loss of fingers if severe enough. After my cath, I was shown the door with no follow-up. Dr Paixao stated that the echo result was “a miscommunication with the NP”. So why did I have a heart cath. My heart rate goes from 52 to 152 without any explanation. I’ve had no prior heart issues. The echo was never discussed with me but I was told that I could get in to see a Dr “in February”. The echo was done in October. My impression is that he’s there for the heart Cath’s. I’m sure they pay well. Also, before you go in, please understand that they won’t place the stent the same day. You’ll have to return and deal with all the risks twice. This is not the norm. He’s a 3.3 stars for a reason.
I saw Dr Paixao after having some palpitations and chest pain. He ordered a stress test and then (2 months later), a heart cath. Everything was cold and impersonal. I was simply called on the phone and briefly told (by the NP) that I needed a heart cath. I was scheduled, (never told that if I needed a stent, it would have to be a second heart cath, doubling my risk). I showed up at the clinic, starting with his condescending attitude that it could be in the right arm despite my prior lymph nodes removal without problems. I assured him that I didn’t want it there, and he finally agreed. After my procedure (there were no blockages), he walked in and assured me I was fine to go. No follow-up was scheduled, (despite a positive stress test showing inadequate blood flow to the right side of my heart). When I inquired about it, he simply stated that “It was a misunderstanding with the NP”. So, why did I have the heart cath? After the heart cath, I had extreme pain (which shouldn’t normally happen), I was discharged without any further discussion). I began to have terrific pain on awakening each morning. When I called the office and ask for a follow-up to further explain my echo, I was told it would be late January to February. (My echo was in Itober). I wasn’t allowed to speak to anyone concerning my tests. My arm pain continued, and an ultrasound was finally ordered by Dr Paixao, which revealed radial artery occlusion. After the end of the second day, he finally had his nurse to call and tell me “that happens all the time”. There was no discusssion about it, with the nurse simply saying “I’m just the messenger”. Radial artery occlusion can be quite severe, up to losing fingers (very severe cases). https://cdt.amegroups.com/article/view/14270/15026 This article states that it happens 1-10% of the time. If it happens to him “all the time”, looks like negligence to me. Beware Dr Paixao unless you want to feel left alone and neglected. He clearly is only there for a payday.
My first appointment wasn’t great. But Dr. Paixao was willing to check further than my first cardiologist for causes of my problem. Dr. Paixao performed two procedures and each time he did an excellent job. He was very friendly and kind before and after the procedures. He is not talkative man but he answered every question my husband and I asked in a very clear and concise manner. I was not sore in my chest or my wrist after Dr. Paixao put in a stent. I highly recommend him to anyone with heart issues.
Dr Paixao was angry when I asked questions, angry when I asked him to use sanitizer before touching me, angry I didn’t know the clinic’s protocols, though it was the first time going there; he didn’t give me my test results, and didn’t have my records from my old doctor and said he didn’t need them. He repeatedly said, “ok, now we have a plan” with out explaining what the plan was at all. I would never recommend anyone go to him.
Dr Paixao was my husbands Doc after he coded. We were in the hosp for over 30 days and I spoke to him every day. He is an excellent physicians. He answered every question and was honest. Thank you for saving my husbands life...
He is very Professional and knowledgeable about cardiology. He is aware of my medications and how they affect me.
He is absolutely amazing!! He answered every question that we had. He did my husband’s work and I will definitely use him as if the need arises
Rude and condescending! Spoke to me in a demeaning and humiliating attitude.
He just does not answer and questions or concerns you have as a patient!! Found the heart problem, but just does not explain anything. Really liked him, but very disappointed with him :(
Brilliant man who can relate to a person with no medical knowledge. Did a heart cath and stent on my husband. We have seen him a total of 4 times and he was never late, always early. A quiet person, but will take time to answer all of your questions. Very polite. Highly recommend him.
He's a very kind Dr who answers all your questions. I feel cared for by him and his staff and highly recommend him. I met him after going to the ER at the Heart Hisoutal. After tests he called in a surgeon to replace a mitral valve in March 2018 and I am doing great six months after surgery.
Super nice man. Very knowledgeable. Answered all my questions. Highly recommend him.
I had 4 bypasses in 2009 and within the last year have seen Dr. Paixao several time for various problems. I highly recommend him.His staff is also very helpful.
He was rude and demeaning. He took a ridiculous amount of time to read my tests, made the wrong referrals which made my process take longer, laughed at me when I explained my symptoms, and tried to diagnose me before I even finished talking. The heart monitor he prescribed to me did not work right and I still had to pay the full amount for half the wear time. Total nightmare.
