Jennifer E. Burks's Online Review Report Card

I've never written a review for anything, but after my experience yesterday (12/28/22), i had to see if there was anyone else who's had the same experience as me, and now it looks like a pattern with this office. I was looking for a new Dr. and called on 8/9/22. I was told the first available appt with Dr. Burks wasn't until 12/14/22. I really didn't want to wait 4 months, but I took the appt. I received a call on 12/12 saying the office was short staffed due to sickness, so they needed to reschedule my appt (she didn't say Dr. Burks herself was sick, and I didn't clarify). I was told the earliest appt I could get would be in March. I told her I couldn't wait until March because we go to FL from the end of January until May. She then asked if I'd like to see Dr. Burks' nurse practitioner, Lauren Andrews. I wanted to see a Dr, which is why I waited 4 months for my initial appt, but since I didn't want to wait until I returned from FL in May 2023, I agreed to an appt with Lauren on 12/28/22. That was yesterday. I walked into the office and was told that since I would be seeing Lauren, I could not switch back to Dr. Burks at a later time. I wanted a Dr! I was never told when I agreed to the appt with Lauren that it meant I wouldn't be able to see Dr. Burks for subsequent visits. Why is that anyway?! BUT THIS JUST GETS EVEN "BETTER"! While I was deciding if I wanted to keep my appt with Lauren or just make another appt with Dr. Burks when I returned in May, I was told Dr. Burks isn't accepting any new patients!!! I made my appt when she WAS taking new patients...AND I STILL HAD AN APPT WITH HER 2 WEEKS AGO, but now I can't even make an appt with her?!! When I explained that didn't make any sense because it wasn't MY fault they had to reschedule my appt, all I received was "I'm sorry". I would love to see a response to this review, because every word is exactly what happened...and more. After all that, THEN they figure out that I couldn't see Lauren either (long story and I'm tired of explaining everything that I went through with this office)...but NO ONE called me to let me know l until I got there. You know, "I'm sorry"' doesn't always cut it. All I wanted was a new Dr after the one I'd been going to for 14 years no longer carried my insurance, and there was absolutely no excuse for what I went through in that office. Dr. Burks, do the right thing! When someone makes an appt with you when you're accepting patients, stand by it.

Waited months for my first appointment while on the list to be notified should an earlier appointment come available- only to be told burks will now be unavailable the day of my appointment so it was moved to 5 months from now! Totally ridiculous

Only to get a message saying burks is now unavailable the day of my scheduled appointment so it was rescheduled to 5 months from now!! I’ve read reviews of others saying the exact same. Definitely switching doctors

I had an appointment scheduled for months to get established. They called one week before and said it would be rescheduled. They would not give me an appointment for 4 month. I informed the person that called that I needed bloodwork done sooner due to issues that were seen on my last bloodwork and 4 months from now was too long to wait. They would only offer me an APRN. I scheduled with a doctor because I wanted to see a doctor for my health concerns and not a nurse. Beware scheduling with this office.

I have had an appointment scheduled with Dr Burks for months to get established as a new patient. I received a call one week before my appointment and was told she was not going to be there and I couldn’t be see for 4 more month. I told the person that called that I needed to be see sooner as I needed bloodwork due to issues seen on my bloodwork but they didn’t care. Beware of scheduling. You may never actually get in if the front desk has anything to say about it.

Dr.Burks' was my primary physician for close to a year this review I have dwelled on for the past few months about even leaving a review however as for Burks on the up side she is an outstanding individual as for the professional side of things I feel she isn't aware of everything Maybe to many Livestock on the farm or under Mercy healthcare's vise grips. As she stated I'm complicated and I agree however she accepted the task now listening to the patient and communication is the reason I walked in pain and suffered for eight months and over 60 plus tests procedure's and 6 different specialists you figure all that education and knowledge some smarts should fall out right so upon seeking a doctor whom was in our area with half the experience (I can see why) moved north and in 5 minutes of "Listening" and looking at records what she said I slap fell out of the chair nailed IT Lymphedema. If you are pleased and not complicated hurray for you as I Stated my opinion of her Good Luck also her ratings are not current I'm sure this virus has some play in the way things went for me and some of her help needs to adjust how they come off to people POOR if I could I would review them .

Dr. Burks really listens to you & cares. My son had a condition & she kept digging until she found out what was wrong. It saved his life. If it had not been found within a few months & had surgery to remove it, he could've developed cancer and died. She is also my doctor. I drive 90 minutes one way just to see her because I know she will help me. Love her!

Wonderful doctor who is attentive and kind. Could not have gotten better care. She is compassionate and kind

So thankful I found Dr. Burks. She's genuine and listens well. Hard to find a physician so caring and understanding these days. Highly recommended.
