0 stars! Don't bother calling nor emailing regarding the welfare of a loved one who's a patient here. You'll get zero response. And, don't bother with your BS reply back. It's insulting!
I had a friend in room 507 at Baptist hospital. To get to her room I would have to use the East elevators. These elevators are just like 20 steps inside the east entrance door. However the hospital would not let me use the east entrance. I was told I must go through the main entrance and walk to the east entrance to use that elevator and go to the fifth floor. It makes absolutely sense. I'm disabled and still recovering from a near deaths experience and surgery I do not walk very well and to walk very far I have have to use a walker. Even with my walker coming from the parking lot to walk all of the way through the hospital to the east entrance I have set and rest my leg a couple of times. It takes up to and over 30 minutes sometimes to walk that far. I don't think I will ever be using Baptist Health hospital if the management is no better than this. I would not trust them with my health.
I want to give higher than a 3 for the orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Smithson and the surgery crew that worked on my mother's broken hip. However, the nurses on the floor 5 W, 75% of them i will give a 1 star. But I have to give special attention to RN Reniese and PCT Kyler, they were an amazing team with my mother. I was very unhappy when the nurse came and removed my mother's catheter because she "got a text from her boss to remove all catheters". Umm, excuse me but my mother has not put any weight on her foot or leg. What is she supposed to do. Bed pan or toilet she said. Are you effing kidding me. So, I had to tell them on the first night either talk to the Dr and get an order for Xanax or I was giving home meds. Well they gave Ativan instead. Never again ...what a nightmare that drug was for her. Anyway. This "hospital" will never see my family again.......not even for the gift shop. Worst hospital experience of my life!!!! So I got a reply from the "owner ". Which is exact same reply every negative review gets. Call patient advocate at this number....blah blah blah blah
I was visiting my mother in the hospital (04-01-2022) and had a severe panic attack. They took me down to the E.R. and checked in. I was able to go into triage as I was also having chest pains also and one of the nurses was so rude and disrespectful to me. After a couple of hours in waiting room I was taken back for more vitals and was placed on heart & BP monitor. After talking to the doctor I was discharged. Tonight (04-06-2022) I called the hospital and talked to a supervisor in the E.R. and told her about the rudeness of one of the triage nurses that happened on Friday night. She said she would talk to the weekend supervisor and then when I started to add more details to the incident, she then hung up on me. Not taking my complaint serious. I wanted so bad to walk out of triage and go to another hospital. Also another complaint with Dr. Kantola. When he came to see my mother and me on the day of her discharge. Dr. Kantola was very unprofessional, he never once identified himself and what his specialty was. I found out from the floor nurse. Dr. Kantola was rude, disrespectful with no bedside manners. He doesn't care about how his patients feelings or the families feelings or concerns. I may send a letter to the main corp. office on these complaints. Very disappointed in Baptist Health in Fort Smith, Arkansas
Nurses are wonderful but as a patient what I would love to see is some fresh air seeing ceiling and four walls everyday from sun up to sundown gets depressing and mental health should go hand in hand with a physical recovery
Been trying to check up on my grandfather. 4 calls over two days left my number 3 times no call back and waited on hold for 20 minutes just to be hung up on.
My son had to have an emergency surgery, and the staff stayed confused. Both hospitals dropped the ball and I will never take anyone there
I want to work housekeeping at Baptist health care but I don't know if they will hire me I'm willing to Wark a full-time
Husband went to ER with extreme ankle/foot pain. We thought he either had gout or a blood clot. Foot was slightly swollen, had a red color to it, warm to the touch and was non-weight bearing. We were worried it was a blood clot or gout. ER did an x-ray to check for broken bones; that was clear. They did an ultrasound to check for clots; that was also good. So they diagnosed him with inflammation of the veins and gave him an anti-inflammatory. Husband even asked if there was a possibility it was gout to which they responded no, your foot doesn't even look that bad. They didn't even do a blood test to check for gout. Two days later, his foot was a bluish-purple and had swollen three times its regular size. So after going to Med-Express (which, by the way is WONDERFUL), had blood sent off and a follow up with his PCP....guess what he has? GOUT! The only positive thing to say about this trip to Baptist ER was that there was very little wait time.
My sister is currently a patient on the 4th floor. I have asked repeatedly to speak with a Nurse Manager or Patient Advocate to no avail. Her trashcan doesn't get emptied, the bedside commode not emptied and a call light seems to have no effect on the staff. In 5 days she has had only one RN who has even taken the time to introduce herself and speak to my sister in a pleasant manner. I am so saddened by this experience. I started my nursing career at Sparks in 1981 and to see this makes me concerned for patients who do not have anyone who checks on them. I attempted to advocate for my sister and was met with rudeness. At Medical City Dallas and just about any other hospital, patients are seen as human beings and treated as such. This experience has me wondering if Baptist hospitals in general are like this or just this one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
