List of Thomas E. Cheyne's Reviews
Dr Thomas Cheyne… an Amazing Doctor. I was having extreme back pain, within days of seeing Dr Tom, he had all test performed and read. After lengthy discussion including suggested treatment and exercises my pain was eliminated and lifestyle recovered!! Very Highly recommend this very kind and professional Doctor!! Jeff B.
Dr. Cheyne does listen to your concerns and make good sound suggestions. He is very knowledgeable and patient. I never feel like he is in a hurry to get rid of me.
Dr. Cheyne was very thorough and listened carefully to my concerns. He explained my condition in a way I could easily understand. He also made recommendations for follow up to ease my discomfort. I was very pleased!
I am looking for another doctor. Been seeing Dr. Cheyne for 10 months. Diagnosed with scoliosis at 62. Dr. Cheyne PERSONALLY, has not done a thing for me the entire time I have seen him, other than send me to other Mercy Clinic providers. I feel that everybody in the system is required to get some money from me! And I still have the same problem I started with 10 months ago. Very limited improvement. His communication is almost non-existent, and his personal nurse often comes across as a know-it-all. I called the office once, because I was having so much pain I was not sleeping well. Told them I just needed something for pain to take at night until I was able to get my LESI. My call was not even returned! And in checking other reviews, he is listed as a Sports Medicine doctor. Not sure that is what I need. Get my last scheduled injection at the Pain Clinic today, and then to see if Dr. Cheyne needs to see me again. Regardless, I will be seeking another opinion. My mother and I both worked for SEMMC and I am very disappointed to see the care level sink this low.
How can Mercy keep this person on their staff with so many bad reviews? Because no one at Mercy actually cares about patients. I've worked there before and their culture is US against THEM......you are in the THEM category and they don't care how bad this guy is. Mercy is supposed to be the best in our area. Just hope you and your family don't need a doctor, if you do, drive to Fayetteville.
Dr. Cheyne and his nurse, Leona are very helpful, get me and my husband in fast and have helped us with our orthopedic pain issues and questions.
He doesn't listen nor care about what's going on. I was hit an dragged by a car an I came to him for help and he's done nothing but get money from my insurance. Hes also the most judgmental doctor I have seen in awhile.
All the people working at the Mercy clinic sports medicine were great, they were sweet to our toddler and polite. We go back to the room and the nurse back there is so sweet she let our toddler push the button to take daddy's blood pressure and it was a really good day for us she was being so good and having fun. And then Dr. Cheyne comes in and he stares at her and motions to her and tells me in a nasty voice to keep her over by me (in other words out of his way). Well of course she wanted to stand by her daddy so she was upset and started talking saying she wanted to stay with daddy and he tells me to either keep her quiet or leave. Our day instantly went from a nice day to a crap day, we have all been in a bad mood since then. Right after he leaves we both said he was an asshole and agreed to never come back here. If your in a bad mood fine but 1. You don't take it to your workplace and 2. You don't take it out on children for no reason other than the fact they exist!
Not a very helpful doctor at all, would not recommend this doctor. Does not make an accurate call on what test needed to be done. Poorly explains results of test. And then just send you to another doctor. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else. I would hope that this doctor would read these comments to change and get better.
He has not sympathy or bed side manner. I have a back injury where I’m in so much pain I pass out after an hour of work and he said “ I think you can just work through the pain. I don’t know what to tell you.” So he writes a work note for me to do light duty for 40 hours a week knowing I can’t perform the task. I recommend that you see any other doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
