List of Venus Jolly Nabors's Reviews
Terrible bed side manner. She did not respect that I have a history of sexual trauma and was extremely rude and uncaring. Did not return even though I needed a follow up visit.
I saw Dr. Nabors throughout my first pregnancy. It was a horrible experience. Dr. Nabors did not care about me as a person. The visits were short and abrupt, and I felt like I was being moved through a conveyor line so she could do the same thing to the next patient. She never asked how I was doing or my opinion on any parts of the pregnancy. She would end each visit with a “Do you have any questions?” but in a tone that implied I was stupid and would be wasting her time if I dared to ask her a question. One of the times I did ask her a question she was openly rude to me. She scheduled an induction for me without asking my thoughts on the matter and I asked her if it was a hospital/state policy to do so. She told me “It is not a policy, it’s science” and spend some time aggressively telling me that it must be done x number of days after your due date. I can’t remember how many days after the due date it was, but it was a small number and I had wanted to know more about why… I did not want to get yelled at about it. When she checked to see how dilated I was at the end of the pregnancy she would preface it with “I’m not trying to hurt you,” in a tone that implied I was being a stupid wimp for reacting to any amount of pain while she did it. She might not have been actively trying to hurt me, but she did not seem to care if she did. One of the times I got to see a nurse instead and the nurse was able to do it with no pain at all (just pressure). The only reason I kept going back to her was because I was unemployed due to the pandemic and kept thinking this will be the week I get a job and get health insurance and can leaver her… that ended up not happening so I just used the internet and support from friends to get through this. I wish I hadn’t stayed with her. Maybe she would have been okay for a second or subsequent pregnancy, but not my first.
She will not respect your wishes. Even if you had past complications.
She has been my doctor for about 3 years. She is a nonsense doctor and cares about her patients. I love how she want to be there every step of the way unlike other doctors.
She delivered my grandson!! Very direct and to the point but when it was to deliver him she was encouraging and did a great job .
Never had any issues during my appointments. Everyone is always very nice.
If you want to be lied to and uncared for, go for it. Doctor saw me for 10 minutes and charged $634. The scheduler straight up lied to me, then conveniently didn’t recall the conversation, causing me to be charged an even higher office visit rate. The doctor is more like a google search engine. Her bedside manner along with personality and caring seem non-existent. the entire time I was allowed to try and ask questions she was probing me. I deserved 5min of eye-to-eye convo for over $600
This office is horrendous. If you want to be lied to and uncared for, go for it. Doctor saw me for 10 minutes and charged $634 The scheduler straight up lied to me, then conveniently didn’t recall the conversation. This caused me to be charged an even higher office visit rate. I knew it had been awhile since I had been there, that is why I called and specifically asked if I would be considered a new patient due to the time frame, or if I would still be existing – since I know NEW Patient is more expensive. I just needed an well visit, and had I known it would be considered NEW PATIENT I would have gone someplace else. However, the scheduler straight up told me no I would not be considered NEW, so I scheduled the appointment. Then BAM get the bill and guess what? Billed as NEW. After calling to try and fix, the entire conversation had been conveniently forgotten completely, and they had no help to offer. More uncaring. The doctor is more like a google search engine. Her bedside manner along with personality and caring seem non-existent. When asked questions, I feel like I'm reading myself from Google, paragraph by paragraph with numbers and statistics being spouted off at me without emotion and barely commas. I can research things myself that way, in a doctor's office I am looking for some personable care...more than Google can provide. Waited 45 minutes to be seen for maximum 10 minutes and that is only because I tried to ask a couple of questions...all of which were met with the above mentioned dry unfeeling tone. She rattled so much info off so quickly it was difficult to retain anything, all while performing the physical exam which is distracting in and of itself. She never took a second to sit and have a meaningful conversation with me, rather the entire time I was allowed to try and ask questions she was probing me. For over $600 I should get a 5 minute sit down eye to eye to discuss what I need to. I wanted to have a conversation about my needs, but it felt so rushed I did not get anything accomplished nor did I get near my money’s worth. Yes, in this age it also has to come down to money…which they are all too happy to rip away from you without regard or conscience. I also do not understand how it's even right to charge for 2 office visits in one visit. If you go in for a well woman, and discuss ANYTHING outside of the exact parameters then you are charged another office visit. Fine, I'll get over that...however...if you in addition need a follow up 2wks later for that additionally charged office visit...yep you get charged another office visit. Just ripping you off every way possible is just wrong. I'm sure you are making enough money...the office certainly looks like it...why gouge people with multiple office visits in that manner? They charge $318 FOR ONE OFFICE VISIT.
I absolutely loved Dr. Nabors! This was my first pregnancy so I was clueless. She helped me through the entire thing. She would spend all the time needed with me to answer and question I had. Her staff was awesome, always very welcoming. One thing I loved about her was in the delivery room. I had to be induced she was there to check on me every couple of hours, and talked me through the whole thing. Very encouraging and supportive. I will defiantly keep going to her and recommend her.
The only complaint I have is the office hours but they are very good about calling back and making sure you are good to go! I wish I could continue using Dr.Nabors but living in El Paso makes that impossible! Her nurses are wonderful as well!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
