Three stars for now… my mom just got diagnosed with stage one breast cancer, she’s been a heavy daily drinker for the 15 years and smokes cigarettes, we went to dr terhar for her surgery, while meeting with her I explained my mom smokes and drinks daily and with research online it says that it creates a heighten risk of complications, breast cancer coming back, and radiation induced lung cancer after radiotherapy.we have been trying very hard to get my mom to stop drinking and smoking as she has caught a dui recently and now diagnosed with breast cancer but she won’t quit. In hopes in getting some encouragement from the doctor that her smoking and drinking will only worsen her situation we got a totally different response from dr terhar. She said drinking and smoking ls fine and “won’t kill her” and when I asked if it could be the cause of her breast cancer she reply’s well she already has it. My mom proceeded to “run a mile” with what the doctor said and started drinking even heavier and made our road in gettin my mom better much harder. I’m highly surprised that a doctor would make these comments, my mom is literally hitting rock bottom and I’m trying to save her. Everyone I look there is studies that show drinking and smoking only heightens risks and complicates things more. In the future i hope this Dr.terhar is mindful of her words and understands that patients take every word as literal and live by it. We came to get my mom better and it’s a long road but this opinion definitely made things a bit harder.

Dr. Terhar is both compassionate, and thorough. I found her staff the same. I am now four years post surgery, and all looks positive. I highly recommend Dr. Terha,r and her staff.

Dr Terhar was wonderful. She reassured me that my carcinoma was very small and sporadic. I have full confidence in her. My current mammogram was negative. My surgery was at 7:30 am and I was back home feeling fine at 11:30.
