Since I was scheduled to see another Doctor, I was very concerned. when they said I would be seeing Dr. McKenzie. She is a wonderful Doctor and a very caring person. She makes you feel so comfortable. All in all, it was a good experience. I would highly recommend Dr. McKenzie.
I have been seeing Dr. Mckenzie for several years now for general OBGYN stuff. She has been wonderful, always listens to what I have to say and is understanding about all my PCOS craziness. I highly recommend her.
Addressed concerns as if they are ridiculous and a waste of time. Lacks bedside manner. Missed a symptom that I think is pretty crucial. I expressed concern over fluid leaking. She didn't do any further evaluation. The following week I saw another MD and told her. Luckily she DID something. An easy US showed I only had amniotic fluid in 1 quadrant. I was induced that night. My husband and I would never go back to her or refer her for anything.
On my first visit, Dr Holcomb was friendly and the visit was like any other doctor appointment, although it seemed like she ran more tests than necessary. Second visit, staff was extremely rude and Dr Holcomb acted like I was wasting her time by being there. Last visit, I waited 50 mins before deciding to leave and as I was walking out, Dr Holcomb caught me in the hallway and I told her I would reschedule because I wanted to go over some test results. She proceeded to go over my test results while standing in the hallway in front of her judgmental staff which made me incredibly uncomfortable.
I went for my first PCP appointment and my blood pressure was 159/109 and she entered in the room screaming at my about being 3 min late. Never introduced herself at all needless to say I left. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
I just relocated to Arkansas and needed to establish a primary doctor in the area. She walked in the room with an attitude from the beginning and immediately asked why I was there. When I told her I needed to establish a family physician for rx refills, etc and was new to the area, she asked what meds I was taking. Other than blood pressure meds, I needed to get a rx for adderall as I have been taking it for about 8ths month b/c I was diagnosed with Adult ADHD. She was very dismissive and said she was not giving me an rx for it unless I saw a psych doc. I had explained I had already went through the whole process previously where I relocated from and could get all the records for her review. she stated that did not matter to her. I had already been without it for weeks and my work was starting to suffer. Btw, I did bring in my rx bottles with all the info on it. To sum it up, based on her comments towards me, she treated as if I was addict with a problem, which I am far from. I understand the stigma that goes along with that medication but I am not an addict or abuse my medication. I was very insulted by how I was treated. I walked out of the room and the office. Although the staff was nice, the office should be sanctioned for several HIPAA violations since I heard an entire story about another patient including the name, her insurance, what she tests her needed done, etc at the front desk. It was not a good impression meeting my first physician in Arkansas.
Dr. McKenzie has terrible bedside manner and very much found her to lack compassion. I'm not sure if she was going through some personal issues or whatever but I found her to be very rude and non-attentive which made my emergency situation even more stressful. I do hope she reads this and takes this as constructive criticism and not complaining so she improves for other patients sake.
You had better ask what your charges are going to be so if you get a test for Candida (9 different tests - really? Plus no treatment). You don't want to faint when your bill is adjusted by your insurance company (thank goodness!) from over $900 to about $298! Second time I have a crazy bill after seeing this doctor as opposed to my old doctor ( same insurance). Guess they really know how to jack up the billing.
Dr. McKenzie is one of the kindest and most gentle doctors I have ever been to. She makes me feel so comfortable and safe every time I see her. She is currently taking care of me through my first pregnancy and I have told all of my family and friends how grateful I am to have Dr. McKenzie taking care of me through this process! She is so personable and I can really tell that she loves her job and wants to take great care of her patients. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone in this area!
My OB of 6 years retired so I had to find a new one. I came here and they couldn't get me in until 2 months out. I ended up having a miscarriage in those 2 months and was unable to get ahold of them between them letting their answering service pick up most calls and being put on hold for long amounts of time. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment. No need for an OB who doesn't have time for their patients.
Best OB/GYN ever! She is more than a doctor, she is so kind & personal. I will always go to her!
I hadn't been to a doctor in over 10 years and was nervous to pick someone at random. The second Dr. McKenzie walked into the room, I knew I was in good hands. She is one of the kindest, most gentle, reassuring women I have met. She loves her work and made me feel confident in her skills and knowledge right away and has continued to prove each to be of the highest quality. She truly listens and patiently answers questions (she even draws diagrams!). I give her the highest recommendation.
