David Szymanski's Online Review Report Card

My husband was referred to Dr Symanski by the hospital after some issues were discovered on a CT scan. During the follow-up appointment the staff struggled to locate my husband’s CT scan, and the doctor never reviewed the results with him. Within a few minutes of speaking with my husband Dr Symanski asked my husband if he wanted to start the process toward a surgical procedure to correct the issue…before explaining exactly what the issue was. My husband felt overwhelmed by the fact that the time from the start of the appointment and the doctor’s suggestion for him to have brain surgery was extremely short. There was no education on risks of having or not having the procedure, or about alternatives to the procedure. To make matters worse, he briefly dozed off during the conversation. It’s worth mentioning that his staff were great. Still, he won’t be back

Rudest doctor I've ever had to encounter. He spoke to my mom like she was stupid. He didn't care. His MA was so rude and had horrible bedside manner too. He didn't take her seriously. For a doctor that deals with the brain he should have more compassion and know that he should listen to his patients. Do not recommend because your brain is important, go to someone who will care.

This doctor does not have hus patients care as a primary concern, maybe not a concern at all. He refused care because I voiced my opinion on the hospital's new mask requirements, even though I complied by putting on a mask. All this while he and his office staff do not wear masks until you enter the waiting room. Some have them on their chin, while others are not even wearing one at all. It's supposed to be the Hippocratic Oath... not hypocrisy.

I have been treating with Dr Szymanski for a few years now he treats my MS and some other problems , he is always so nice and takes his time he makes sure I can understand exactly what he is saying and how treatment will work . I am always seen in a timely fashion. While Doctor was gone his staff made sure I was taken care of and seen who I needed to see in his place. I would recommend him to everyone and his staff is wonderful as well.

Dr Szymanski is a great neurologist. I was first referred to him by Dr Sherrard and Miller in 2002. Before just recently the last time I saw him was in 2003. I needed to return for severe migraines this year. Dr Szymanski was so nice and on point for treatment and tests. It was like 18 years didn’t even go by, like be remembered me. Now I know he didn’t but that is his bedside manner. Definitely recommend he actually listens!!

Visited St. Charles Mercy Hospital on October 22, 2019 after fainting at job. Dr. Brian Kern was E.R. on duty. Was mis-diagnosed as Seizure. His consult was David E. Szymanski. Went through multiple tests and another visit in the following days. Was over medicated for this wrong condition. Dr. Szymanski was rude and staff was also rude. At follow-up visit he then admitted there was nothing neurologically wrong and advised to see a psycologist. Finally seen by a neurologist whom knew right away it was heart related. Ordered heart related tests and was properly diagnosed. Now stuck with multiple bills related to a condition do not have and not allowed to work. Diagnosis should be removed from patient records and all charges related to mis-diagnosis should be removed.

I just want to say this doctor is wonderful and he really cares about you. He truly wants to make you comfortable and not in a lot of pain. He is so kind and honest with you. I would recommend this doctor to anyone that has any kind of Neuropathy pain like I have.

Just heard about a situation with a patient's first time visit. BAD! BAD! BAD! Dr. David Szymanski is lucky I didn't take this patient to the appointment. He would have received the same tone of respect he used and showed. I have a relative in the system and they will hear about this. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. Promedica does not have the best reputation and CAN NOT AFFORD Drs. like him. 25 years of experience DOES NOT EXCUSE YOU Dr. D S. of your behavior. I'd like this to be the patient's last visit but it's not my call. SAD Dr. D.S. You need to an class on Dr. Patient Relations.

I found Dr Szymanski to be very helpful to my family and myself. Both my daughter and granddaughters need medication for attention deficit disorder. The doctor explained our challenges to us and has been patient when answering our questions. Our appointments have not been rushed and the office was clean and professional. We visit the Oregon, Ohio office. I do recommend Dr Szymanski to other family and friends.
