List of East Cooper Medical Center's Reviews
The absolute worst hospital to give birth in. Do not go here. Trust me.
The absolute worst hospital to give birth in. Do not go here. Trust me.
I had been called multiple times to verify my insurance and on East Cooper’s end everything was fine- I had confirmed multiple times my insurance had been billed. I just got a bill for $1,375 that is due soon that says I have NO insurance on file and it was never billed, so I have basically been lied to. Never going here again and have never had this issue anywhere else.
While the service is average, I’d suggest avoiding East Cooper Medical Center at all costs. Had I known that this Center would bill at their rates, I would have gone elsewhere and taken the chance at life. This by no means suggests that you should risk your life by not going here, but be ready to pay prices that do not match the services.

Avoid at all costs unless you’re in cardiac arrest or unable to drive a little further to a regular Hospital. Outrageous billing practices—2 HRS at the ER and my insurance was charged 16k. All I had was a CT scan and IV meds. Another time I stayed in the hospital overnight and it cost over 22k!! I could have hired a private Doctor or Nurse and saved money with max out of pocket. I wish an agency would investigate their pricing or deceptive billing practices? If you need help with billing over the phone. There is one number to call and expect a 45 min wait to speak to someone that may or may not help. Now I realize why their ER has zero wait times. The word is out! Come here and go broke! If you’re not close to max out of pocket, I urge you to stay as far as you can from East Cooper.
The staff is beyond rude and uncaring just find another facility.
The Staff and Doctors at ECMC are a rare breed, they dont specialize in what you want, but are Master specialists at what you need. Would always recommend.
The facility and staff where excellent for the most part. I had full knee replacement surgery. There are two issues I had with the hospital: 1. The night nurse that was taking care of me was not vaccinated for Covid (readliy available at the time) and had several small children at home. I was not happy about that considering infection is the worse thing that can happen when replacing the knee. 2. The billing department. It is an absolutlute nightmare. I had prepaid my surgery bill and 5 months later it still has not been resolved. Hours upon hours of phone conversations and I have a medical concierge service and they were fustrated! DO NOT PREPAY YOUR BILL.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
