Julie Pena's Online Review Report Card

I am writing on behalf of my friend who had surgery 11/3/2020. He had skin cancer on his side forehead removed. This doctor showed no mercy. If you want concern or compassion out of a doctor, she is the last person to consider. She could care less if she is killing you while butchering you, and the deadening they give is a joke. He felt every single knife cut! He was even flinching in pain and they gave him more deadening, however, it didn’t phase this pain. She knew he was suffering but didn’t care. I think she cares more about her profits than she ever would a patient. One would think this would require sedation, but that’s probably too time consuming. He will never be going back to her, and folks, please do your research and read reviews, and ask around. Come to find out she is notorious for this! He was so stricken with pain, he backed into another vehicle as he was leaving the office. Nobody should have to suffer and writhed in agony while and after a doctor cuts out pieces of skin, not into day’s medical world. Don’t do it. Just don’t. Pass this one right by.

Absolutely love this place! Run and run now if you need a dermatologist and if you need one on the West Side run faster.  Have seen a few of there PA and NP and my son too. Their Nurses are top notch. I cant say enough good things about them. They calmed me down with a skin cancer issue, a red face issue, my sons acne, my other sons dry skin. All with care and empathy and appointments. Get your HSA going and they do take insurance too. Early am appointments available and different locations if you dont live on the West Side. These are really wonderful people doing wonderful work in Healthcare.  Not enough good things to say about them. Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful.

Very courteous and professional. Surgery went well and healing normally on schedule. Would definitely recommend Skin Solutions for any dermatology problem. I have been going there for approximately 5 years.

I was referred To Dr Pena and was grateful for that. She removed skin cancer with ease and no pain. At the time i had a toothache, its next. No pain what so ever from surgery and her assistants were very professional also. I would highly recommend Dr Pena for sure........

Ive tried everything to get my skin cleared up. Been to most doctors in Middle Tennessee. Skin Solutions has the best doctors and PAs! They listen and work with you to get the results you want!

I wish I read this site and others about Dr. Penas lack of training in Mohs surgery. She never did a fellowship and its obvious. I went to another Mohs surgeon for my next issue and the difference in quality of care and surgical technique is vast. Ive now left Dr. Pena and visit another fellowship trained Mohs surgeon in Nashville. To quote Dr. Pena from below: In addition to Dr. Penas Dermatology residency, she completed a Pathology residency. These eight years of training after her medical school graduation gave her the same skill set that a one year MOHs fellowship receives. If its the same thing, then why would they call it different things? Pathology does NOT equal a Mohs fellowship, as is obvious on my face. :(

Dont waste your time elsewhere. Hands down the most well trained and smartest dermatologist in middle Tennessee. I went for medical and cosmetic procedures. I am impressed and will be sending everyone I know here

I am so happy I went with Dr.Pena. I have been struggling for a entire year. I have had 3 biopsies, hospitalized, been to ER monthly, been on several antibiotics, ointments, vitamins, changed my diet, tried several antidepressants. It kept me locked up in my home not enjoying my family. I became extremely depressed because my once clear skin had become full of lesions that swelled my whole face. My children were terrified of me. I had several answers to my problem. Each time leaving feeling hopeful. I was told I had herpes and had to take Valtrex, that made me horribly sick but I continued because I wanted a resolution so bad. Then I was told I may have Lupus, and MRSA. So needless to say for a year I was a wreck. I didnt wait long, her staff was amazing, I felt no pressure to buy products. Butafter 2 days of using her skin care Likewise.. My face looked AMAZING!!!! Thank you Dr. Pena!!
