Richard M. France's Online Review Report Card

I’m traveling right now from another state and in the middle of vacation came down with some extremely uncomfortable eye symptoms. I have a fairly complex history that’s been difficult for others to follow and have now seen ophthalmologists for my issues at UCLA, Keck medicine, in Dallas, Clearwater, Tampa and Charlotte, and everyone has told me something slightly different and no one else has ever fully addressed my issues or taken the entire picture into account quite as much as Dr. France did in a short visit. I had a lot of questions because I’ve been dealing with so many issues for years now and couldn't help but pick his brain. He was so patient and really explained things thoroughly and went into so much detail which I wanted. My husband is a doctor but not an ophthalmologist so I was able to pass along some info. We are both so glad to have happened upon him and I wasn’t joking when I told my husband I would fly back up to Maine to see him after the experiences I’ve had with other eye doctors now, including a surgery I still have side effects from months later that the surgeon in another state dismissed as just needing a refraction, which isn’t the case. The clinical diagnosis here was excellent and the kind women up front not only squeezed me in same day, but also had a good understanding of my issues enough to have a thorough conversation with my husband. I am so appreciative of this facility, its staff, and Dr. France.

The few times I met Doctor Richard France he was kind and very informative about why I was in pain. Last time I went to see him, just like the first time I went, he wanted a MRI the place that he works with doesn't take my insurance, so i informed his office that I don't have the $600 to pay for it, they said that they will look for a place for me, this time just like the first time they didn't do it, the first time I called them 3 times, on the 3rd call my daughter got very verbal with them, they finally found a place. This time I'm not going to call, I waited 3 weeks. I'm not going back. I hate giving bad reviews but if they don't care enough to help me then i don't need to go back. SORRY I'M NOT RICH ENOUGH TO BE TREATED BY A WELL KNOWN DOCTOR.

We met Dr France a little more than a year ago when my husband was diagnosed with Uveatis, a pretty scary condition. Dr France was patient and provided clear explanations and he’s been a great doctor keeping my husbands eye healthy!
