Scott Snow Cooper's Online Review Report Card

My wife had a hip replacement surgery 2015 by Dr Cooper and he did an outstanding job! But she needs surgery on the other side and Dr Cooper keeps putting it off! Telling her she needs to loose more weight! She weighs less now than she did when he did the surgery the first time! She is in a lot of pain and gets a shot in her hip every three months that don't last long! I can't stand to listen to my wife cry at night when she tries to turn over in bed. If Dr. Cooper is not going to do the surgery he needs to tell us so we can find someone that will ! Enough is enough! From one jar head to another.

Good surgeon but arrogant, harsh, lacks caring and rude. Not worth the treatment we received from him. Never timely in clinic or for surgery. Couldn't believe his lack of working my other doctors and their request of him

He has to be the best orthopedic surgeon in NWA! He was voted the best of the best for that reason! I fractured my ankle on both sides. It is 6 months post-op. My ankle feels great! I was worried it would never feel normal again. I wouldn’t want to see anyone else!

Dr. Cooper moves fast. However, he is top notch, listens and is highly efficient. He did a foot surgery for me and provided exceptional follow up care. A week post surgery, he personally called me to see how things were going. Wow. The actual DOCTOR called. Usually we get the nurse or sometime an office person. Highly recommend.

While I believe Dr Cooper is a very skilled surgeon (probably the best orthopedic in NWA, I have been a patient, and pleased with my care), I just can't recommend him for elderly care. He was extremely dismissive to my 83 year old mother. She broke her foot and required surgery with no weight bearing. She lives alone and he was prepared to send her home after surgery. When she inquired about spending the night in the hospital he told her, "there is absolutely no reason you need to be in the hospital" and when she asked about a rehab facility after surgery his comment was, "I don't care where you go. End of discussion." PT visited her before discharge and immediately called Dr Cooper to recommend she be admitted to the hospital and subsequently sent to a rehab facility. The therapist's assessment was she lacked the strength and endurance required to convalesce at home and was high risk for a fall and further injuries. (All the reasons we believed she needed these facilities to begin with). We are extremely grateful to the physical therapist who advocated for the appropriate care. **EDIT UPDATE: I received a personal phone call from Dr Cooper this morning apologizing for the way he handled the situation. He was very humble and acknowledged he should have done better. I have huge respect for someone who can admit they were wrong and offer a sincere apology. Kudos for Dr Cooper for being such an individual.

In September 2006 I was attending a wedding in Eureka Springs and fell down several stairs breaking my left lower left leg and ankle in three pieces. I was 57 year old at the time and there was concern about my ability to heal. Well since my emergency surgery with Dr. Cooper and my return to my home outside New Orleans I have been zip lining, scuba diving, mountain hiking and rock climbing! Not to mention several trips to Europe. Not bad for a "woman of my age". None of this would have been possible without the excellent emergency surgery Dr. Cooper preformed on me following my accident. It has been 16 years since my surgery and I have complete range of motion in the joint and no pain at all in that leg. Thank you Dr. Cooper for a job well done.

Not recommended for ACLR!! 3 clear red flag in my case: 1. Took 3 hour for ACLR + meniscus, when in his own words it was clean ACL tear and meniscus in pretty good shape. Reason that was given was 'tissue fell off bone while extracting from patella' which is bizarre and unheard of 2. None of his staff present during my post surgery discharge, general nurse put on the knee immobilizer wrong and caused other issues 3. About 2.5 month po, I still had lot of swelling and extension missing by 7-8 degree and he wanted to schedule me for something after 4 month. (I guess he knew something was wrong and wanted to just escape). Immediately switched doctor. Needless to say, I am 11 month po and still struggling. Update: Needed to get corrective surgery for both ACL and meniscus

So happy my primary care physician recommended Dr. Cooper to me a few years ago. Had an office visit today. Dr. Cooper listens, communicates and provides just some good ole common sense. He is friendly and genuinely cares for his patients and their wellbeing.

Dr. Cooper corrected both of my feet, one surgery per foot. It has been a year since my last surgery. My feet feel GREAT! Dr. Cooper is a great surgeon with a great bedside manner. He is so kind, informative and patient! I highly recommend him!!!
