Terryl Ortego's Online Review Report Card

I have been seeing Dr Ortego for over 2 years. I have the same problems .Actually 1 extra, he did run a test and assured me I didn't have this genetic issue , now I get to spend everyother Friday getting phlebotomies. I found him to be knowledgeable but never was able to follow through. My last visit he looked at me as though we had never met . I hope I haven't waited too long to get a second opinion

I have been a patient of Dr Ortego for 25 years. Dr Ortego is Confidently skilled, Empathetic, Focused, Knowledgeable, Unbiased, and Respectful. He goes above and beyond for his patients. He explains in detail to patients so you have an understanding of diagnosis, any helpful tests or procedures and their results/ outcomes. He and his nurse LaSchell make sure you are well cared for. LaSchell is an angel that gives all to her patients. If you or a loved one needs a good GI Dr, he is the best.

Dr. Ortega is very thorough and even drew a picture of my procedure. He removed all doubt and fear I was having. You can’t do better than this doctor.

Seen ortega for over a year and he and his team could never figure out what was wrong when my symptoms were clear. when i changed doctors i got a diagnosis immediately that made sense of it all. he just put me on trials of medicines and when one didn’t work he just tried a new one. i got sick of not being listed to and having neglectful doctors. i would talk to him about something and he’d change the subject. if i would have changed sooner things would be different but i do NOT recommend ortego to anyone.

Dr. Ortego was so through in my first visit. Asked all the appropriate questions and even drew a picture. The nicest doctor I have met in years. I recommend Dr. Ortego! Frank Bailey

I first was referred to and seen by Dr. Ortego in 2015. He found a minor issue and resolved it and reset me to return 5 years later. On the return appointment in November 2019 he found cancer in my colon. He took the time to explain to me and my wife exactly what we were dealing with and that he would immediately start all of the testing to move forward with dealing with the problem. Thanks to Dr. Ortego I now do not have the cancer in me and my immediate family is all being screened. Not only is he very compassionate and caring, he is a pro and makes sure that you understand exactly what is happening. He followed up with me personally on all testing all the way to the point where he handed me off to my surgeon to get the demon out of me. I very strongly recommend Dr. Ortego to anyone with GI issues. He is excellent and you can trust him. I truly thank God for putting me in the path with Dr. Ortego and the team that he in turn handed me off to.

I have gone to this doctor three times. He never gives me the right information after the test. He always tells me everything is fine and then he sends the other doctors different. He said my esophagus was ok but he had to stretch it and other things were incorrect. Time for a different Doctor

Lachelle, and Dr. Ortego are the best in the area. They have always treated me in a timely fashion and do the best they can for me.

Awesome team

He performed A colonoscopy & took some biopsies. It all came back negative but he knew something was not right. He did not want to take the time to figure out what was wrong. Turns out there was a big cancerous tumor growing inside me. He dropped the ball on this & never apologized. After going through chemo/radiation I went back to him due to not being able to eat. He said I was anorexic! I was actually having bowel obstructions. He missed this too! Would never recommend this Dr to anyone.
