List of Narra Vinod's Reviews
Terrible bedside manner. Refused to operate on my father. He told him to "get off the couch and stop eating cupcakes"..while my father is in active treatment battling bladder cancer!
I went to my primary care over a month ago because I had a painful bump on my neck. My PCP said although it typically will be benign I should get it removed and would have call to a general surgeon. My PCP office gave me a list of 2 pages worth of general surgeons to choose from and I called about 4 and left messages. Dr. Narra's office was the first to get back to me, therefore I booked an appointment about 4 - 5 weeks out. The bump was red/itchy and even painful at times. It was the size of a grape and stuck out to the point where it was very noticeable. Two days prior to seeing Dr. Narra i went to my dermatologist as Mass General in Boston and she even commented that the bump looked inflamed and I should get that removed. I told her about my appointment in a few days with Dr. Narra and she stated she was glad I was taking care of it. I was relieved to finally be getting it removed. When I get to the office the nurse was very pleasant and told me it was probably a cyst and also eased my mind about getting it removed. When Dr. Narra came in he seemed pleasant at first but quickly made a few off putting comments. First he was telling my it was benign and I did not need it taken off. At one point i glanced at my watch and he commented saying "do you need to take a call or something" ...with his tone you would've thought I answered a phone call or something. He then proceeded to tell me I do not need it removed and I said I am uncomfortable having it there and would like it taken off. He said "why? just put your hair down?" I asked why wouldn't I get it removed ...i large size red mass that is clearly visible on my neck would seem like a no brainier to get it taken care of. He made a second comment that I had long hair and should just keep my hair down. I think i went into shock...it felt so inappropriate and also felt like I was inconveniencing him for even being there. I replied that I wear my hair up every day for the gym and would like it removed. He then into what the worse case scenario would be ...but it felt like he didn't have confidence in himself to remove this without complications. I asked if the worse case scenario happened what would the follow-up look like because I recently moved to NJ and came back for family\work and this appointment. Dr, Narra then stated that I should just get it done in NJ. I chose Mass General because of their reputation and I understand not every doctor will make you feel comfortable but I found Dr. Narra to be unprofessional, impatient and inappropriate. There are plenty of General Surgeons at Mass General therefore I would NOT recommend Dr Narra.
Dr. Narra, in addition to being a fine surgeon, is kind and very helpful. I would recommend him to all my family and friends.
Had surgery by Dr Narra at Salem Hospital. Wound got infected immediately and Dr Narra and his office had terrible follow up. Had to see another surgeon to fix the incisional hernia his laparoscopic gallbladder surgery caused.
Dr Vinod Narra did my thyroidectomy for me. He was on time for all my appointments. He is very personable and listened to me. He requested extra tests be done to make sure I was 100% healthy for surgery. He told me everything that would happen and made me feel comfortable. My scar is minimal and the care I got was great! He leaves his cell phone number for you so if you have any problems he is readily available. Awesome Doctor..
He is a friendly guy that keeps your atmosphere comfortable, always finds a way to answer your questions
Dr. Narra did an amazing job for me removing my thyroid. I was in distress due to Hashimoto syndrome and with Dr. Narra's help, I was free of all discomfort within hours after the surgery. Thank you so much for making such a big difference in my life. You are the best.
Had an initial consult with Dr Narra for my husband's thyroid cancer and surgery. It's my husbands 2nd time with cancer so we know what to look for and we were really impressed. Very through consult. Dr Narra took his time, explained the cancer and surgery and my husband left with full confidence in him. I'm usually a tough sell with surgeons but was very impressed.
Dr Narra is wonderful. Everything from first visit he came to see me right up until surgery was great. His bedside manner is the best and he takes the time to explain everything. Hope to never have to have another surgery but if I do I would want to have him again.
Dr Narra was very professional and informative during each stage of my treatment. He performed two surgeries on me and each time I felt I was in good care and healed quickly. He has a delightful sense of humor which helped in times of stress and relaxed me. No question went unanswered and he was always just a phone call away.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
