Im laughing as I read these reviews...Dr. Bowers is laid back soft spoken caring yet straight up honest...He is very specific in explaining your procedure and what to expect esthetically pain wise etc... My procedure diastasis recti is very rarely covered by insurance but Dr. Bowers and Donna his office manager continue to appeal the insurance companys decision as well as tell me what I can do to help get it approved...On my initial visit Dr. Bowers told me I had to quit smoking prior to surgery which I need to do anyway...I agreed by the time of my next appt Id be done smoking he clarified he would NOT operate until I was 30 days tobacco free...He explained how it affects the healing process and he was 100% adamant...Ive NEVER encountered a surgeon14 thus far that was that stringent smoking or anything else for that matter...The fact he would ONLY operate if I had the chances of the best recovery possible made me feel very confident about his care of patients...For the people commenting he had a better than you attitude I assume they did not like his straightforward realistic explanation of their situation he has a great bedside manner As for the people that put stay away would not reccomend to a friend Id love to hear WHY??? When someone doesnt give reason for a good or bad review I ignore it. IF their experience were that horrific or wonderful they would want people to know WHY

Dr. Bowers removed my gall bladder 12 years ago. The surgery seems to have been a success but the sutured skin on my belly button has never healed correctly. It still itches is sometimes painful from dryness bumpyraised discolored and altogether unsightly. When Ive been examined by other doctors they all have the same surprised looks on their faces by the bad job he did on it and cant believe its been that many years since my surgery because it still looks like a fairly fresh scar. His bedside manners arent the greatest either. For these reasons I wouldnt recommend him not when there are other better surgeons in the area to choose from.

I was not a happy person with this doctor.I would not recommend this doctor to anybody.

Dr. Bowers is a wonderful surgeon. He listens to his patients and provides great care. From my first appointment to the surgery day was within 2 weeks. Nearly a month later I am fully recovered. His staff is also great and caring. I stopped in the office today just to say hi.

Having not met Dr Bowers prior to my operation for a double hernia I was slightly apprehensive but any fear was allayed by the theatre staff who clearly held him in high regard. When he arrived scrubbed and ready to go he presented as extremely personable explained clearly what he was proposing to do made ample time for any questions and generally exuded an air of confidence. In the recovery room he chatted to myself and my wife about postop dos and donts and somehow managed to do the job without leaving that slicing pain some of us older folk may recall from surgery in days gone by. I gave him five stars because there was nothing I could fault throughout the whole episode.

Never even performed an exam on my daughter. He was very condescending in his explanation and I dont think he had even looked at her chart. I wouldnt agree to have him operate on her unless it was a life or death situation and time was of the essence.
