Dr. Shah is one of the most amazing doctors at Ironwood Cancer. He's especially wonderful explaining your treatment and the options you have. I was so thankful for him on my cancer journey; he listened and encouraged me and sometimes laughed at my stubborness but together we reached a successful outcome. I could not have done it without him!

Dr. Shah was very informative. He told me what his plan is and what the variables of my treatment was. He answered my questions and was very forthcoming with information. When I go to Ironwood, everyone is on time, willing to help, and seem caring. I had to go into surgery during my treatment and Dr. Shah showed up to check on me regularly. Everyone is helpful and nice at Ironwood. He is willing to work with me as a patient and has been great to have this experience with Dr. Shah and the team of Ironwood offices of Glendale and Avondale at my side. Also my nurse Joe has been great at checking up on me and making sure I'm doing well. The ladies at the front desk are knowledgeable and personable.

Dr Shah was great to talk to, helped me understand everything I needed to know and my next steps.

I would recommend Ironwood and Dr Shah to anyone who is diagnosed with cancer. He is kind, caring, and thorough. When I had my first appointment with him he was able to put me at ease with my diagnosis by explaining what I had, how they were going to treat me, and what all of my options were. He was positive, calm, and thoughtful. I have never felt pressed for time with him. His assistant, Mariel, is a very caring person who calls you back within minutes and always gets you taken care of. Mary in the oncology room is a blessing to everyone! She is so efficient and always a pleasure to spend time with. She feels like a friend.

When you’re sick, it’s very important to have a good doctor treating you. Dr Shah is very educated, trained, professional and friendly, but most importantly, he sees patients as real human beings. When I was down on my health, he gave me hope and lifted my spirits up. I wish there’s more doctors like him!! He’s not just treating a disease, he’s treating a person !!

I’ve recommend this office to friends and family already. The office seems to be very professional and efficient. The office staff is friendly. Dr. Shah is a very thoughtful doctor and seems to stay educated with what is going on in the medical community. When recommendations get modified by medical research, he modifies my treatment so I have the most up to date treatment plan. I really appreciated this.

Dr. Shah was recommended to me by another doctor. He has been attentive and warm, very thorough with information. Dr. Shah has gone way beyond what is expected and took the trouble to call an Oncology Surgeon directly for me setting up an appointment right away. He and his staff are by far the best comfort a patient could ask for, especially dealing with an endocrine tumor on the pancreas, a form of pancreatic cancer. Thank you Dr. Shah.

I’d definitely recommend Dr. Darshil Shah and Ironwood Cancer Center in Avondale. The staff is pleasant. They get you in really quick. My friends have told me about other cancer centers that weren’t so good. I actually enjoy coming to Ironwood Cancer Center in Avondale.
