DONT USE DR LAUGHLIN!! He killed my mother with invasive unecessary procedure that was very bad clinical judgement (the procedure was diagnostic, not life saving) He wore A LOT of cologne after intubation procedure (Asthma specialist???), is very arrogant, did not even begin to explain the dangers and outcomes of an open lung biopsy to my Mom, he told her it was a big test rather than the small test (bronch) he did before. Her lung collapsed and she died as a direct result of this diagnostic procedure. I am a Respiratory Therapist RRT NPS ACCS and told my Mom not to get the procedure, that it would set her back and she was just taken off 60LPM 100% o2. I told her to ask what he was going to do about the biopsy and she stated "I cant ask that". I was in Santa Barbara and could not physically stop the surgery, so I stated I hope he knows what he's doing. Well he made a really bad call, her lung collapsed and she is dead 15 years or more too early. My heart is broken from MD laughlin

Dr Laughlin took care of my family member and she was not getting better I suggested he talk with the care giver about her choking at which time he told me "I don't need to here anything from her." After which I tranferred my family member to Los Angeles where she was diagnosised with asperation pnemonia. I feel this Dr was arrogant, ill pepared to handle the case and was directly responsible for her going down hill. I would not use this doctor.
