List of Ahtisham Shakoor's Reviews
He failed to tell me I had a long qt interval. It was on numerous EKGs. I died at Mercy Gilbert ER in 2015 and had two fantastic doctors that literally saved my life. My arrhythmia had been in my records for over a year. Now I have a pacemaker/defibrillator AND a new cardiologist
My husband was referred to this cardiologist after a hospital ER visit for a stroke. In all our visit we saw this doctor only once! He did nothing at that appointment and then told us to come back in a month and we were given an appointment with his PA. His PA was very nice and had some suggestion ,but my husband needed someone to run test and take care of his heart condition. We finally found a different cardiologist that immediately set up stress test and anangiogram that showed where there were blockages. The new cardiologist was such a relief to us and explained everything so well.
We had several issues with this office but will point out a few here...-Michelle who oversees insurance approvals made many mistakes throughout the time my wife and I both visited this office. Michelle ordered the wrong imaging for my wife, imaging that went through a lengthy approval process. The incorrect imaging was completed and the office didn’t notice the mistake until weeks later during the follow up visit where the cardiologist Ahtisham Shakoor realized the mistake and had to order the correct imaging at that time. This required a new approval, causing everything to be pushed out an additional month.-I had a CT scan ordered by Dr. Shakoor. Michelle didn’t send it to my insurance for approval for over a week, after pushing the office to submit for approval they called a few weeks later to schedule the appointment. I was prescribed a medication to slow my heart rate the day before the appointment. After starting the medicine I was called and told Michelle hadn’t received the approval yet and the scheduling was premature, cancelling the CT scan after I started the medicine they prescribed for me.-In addition to this Dr. Shakoor also ordered a 7 day heart monitor. They took 1-2 weeks to get it approved through my insurance, fitted me for the device only to find out months later it was never approved and now denied because they used a device company out of network. They’re now telling me that it is between us and the device company, the device company they work with. There are many more mistakes we encountered along the way, in addition to a rude receptionist! I would highly recommend seeking medical care anywhere else.

He saved my life and did what no Doctor would do...He listened and check the symptoms! After being told by my primary and every emergency room in the east valley, that told me nothing was wrong with me, that it is was an upset stomach. But Dr. listened and told the ER. to admit me ad he woud do angiiagram in the morning. So we found out my right coronary artery was 80% closed. No one and I mean no one listened. They follow what the test were telling them. Not 5he patient. So this he is the best cardiologist in the U.S. in my view point. He listens and follows the symptoms and what the patient says.Kim Duchac
Dr. Ahtisham Shakoor is a fantastic Dr. and a wonderful person.
Dr. Shakoor was right about something that the Mayo Clinic was wrong about. I should have listened.
It was my first visit today for my mom. Best Doctor and very good staff, dr is very pleasant to talk to and makes you very comfortable Recommend him to everyone I know !
I checked in at 8:00 a.m. this morning for my 8:30 apt. I was called back for my echocardiogram and told to wait in the front to be called back for the results. After seeing no less than 10 people come in and be called back, I asked the front counter person I checked in with when I was going to be called back since it was now 10:10 and everyone twice over had been called back. I was brought back to a room almost immediately where I waited another 20 minutes before a PA came in, not the doctor as I was scheduled to see. I had to wait for copies of the report, then the office manager gave me a starbucks card for my trouble. That card will surely not equal my time taken from work that I have to claim on a timesheet. I was early and did everything I was suppose to do. My time is valuable too. btw- yes, my blood pressure was sky high. Not going back
Had my first visit today with Dr Shakoor and was extremely pleased with every aspect of my visit. I was greeted politely upon my arrival, and was taken back to an exam room within minutes of my arrival. Dr Shakoor was very cordial and listened intently to my concerns and gave me ample time to ask questions. I felt that he truly was concerned about me and I would recommend him without reservation to any person looking for a cardiologist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
