Amer Al Khoudari Md's Online Review Report Card

My experience with Dr. Al-Khoudari was terrible, and I will not even consider a return visit. I spent hours researching through various sites, and thought I had found a good option to address the constant pain which a previous GP had suggested might be Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had my appointment today, and it was the biggest letdown and disappointment I have ever experienced with a doctor. He was impatient, disinterested and completely dismissive. He asked a couple of quick questions, and didn't even let me elaborate before stating that based on my description, he didn't think I had Rheumatoid Arthritis, and he can't help me, as he rushed out of the room in what seemed like a huff. This doctor, and his staff for that matter, made me feel as though my time, money and feelings were of no concern whatsoever, and that I was no more than an inconvenience in his day. If asked to rate him on a 1-10 scale, I would ask if zero could be an option.

When I asked his staff about that referral to a neurologist, the staff member shuffled through some business cards, and proceeded to hand me 2 cards....for kidney specialists. If I could give this doctor 0 stars I would. I am 70 yrs old and this is the worst Doctor I have ever been to. His office staff, including his medical assistant, are very rude and unprofessional. Was referred by my MD because I was in a lot of pain. I had to wait over 2 months to get in to see him. Was sent to the wrong address and missed appointment. They blamed it on my MD office. Was very rude and said they had sent me paperwork and the address was in there, but I could only find the address I went to. Finally got to see the Al-Khoudari. I had to bring all my previous labs. He did not listen to my description of my symptoms. Stopped me at ones he recognized and after seeing him for 15 minutes was diagnosed and given prednisone to take before even getting test results. Was told to make an appointment for next week and rushed out. Was told they would take my blood in office. Then I was told there was no one to take my blood. Got blood test done else where. I did not start the medication and came back week later expecting to find out more from the blood test. He was very upset that I had not started the prednisone and asked Then why are you here? Many communication went wrong and was accused of being my fault. It is extremely hard to get messages to anyone in that office. Al-Khoudari and his staff are Very patronizing and dismissive!

Waited weeks for my appointment. Going from Prescott Valley and had an accident recently so I had to rent a vehicle, board my dog and get a hotel room. After filling the tank with $100 in gas for the trip I got a text cancelling the appointment just before I hit the road. It was too late to cancel any hotel room, my dog was boarded and I had already picked up the rental. I called the office to let them know that the doctor may charge $50 for a cancelled appointment, what about my $300. I requested a telehealth appt because of the distance but they refuse to do that for first time patients. There is nothing that needs to be examined that can't be discussed in a telehealth appt since they have my labs. The girl on the phone told me to "take a breath and relax" and proceeded to look for another appointment time. I told her if they weren't willing to do a telehealth there was no way I was going to be the doctor's patient and risk this again. At that point she got extremely snippy and rude. No apology whatsoever. I understand a doctor can get ill or have an emergency but they make no concessions. Will look for a more agreeable practice. I'm not dying yet and if I was I would not be going here.

Diagnosed after a brief conversation with no tests, or chart review. Very patronizing and dismissive. Also could not figure out how to see a patient when his internet wasn't working so kept patients waiting over an hour. I will not return and would not recommend. Very disappointed.

I was so happy to have this rheumatologist because I saw excellent reviews. I have been with him for 6 years and there was never a time that he said that was not complying to his medical plan or no show. I kept every one of my appointments. I have proof of that. I told him about my sensitivities as well as side effects I have had with some medication. He terminated me after Thanksgiving for no apparent reason. You call this professional? There were times when I felt that he rushed when I was there. I had to ask all of the questions and I felt that he did not take the time that he did with other patients. The front desk staff was always cordial.

He never answers a questions with an explanation. Just, that's what it is. Or, he also likes to say because that's what the book says to do. I don't know any reason behind what he does.

Dr.Amer Al Khoudari is awesome, He is very professional.It’s a joy to have as my provider. Dr. Amer is very thoroughly. He has been great in treatment of my lupus. I am very pleased.
