My husband and I both have had a total knee replacement, and my husband has had a reverse shoulder replacement. These have all been done by Dr Martin. Today I saw Dr Martin because I am a candidate for a second total knee replacement. My husband and I have always had excellent care by Dr Martin. We would go to no other surgeon. Staff members agree that he is an excellent surgeon. He is highly recommended by us.
From the moment we walked into the door, we met this lovely young man, who was taking appointments at the desk, very professional, and courteous. Then the x-ray technician was absolutely awesome and helping me get just the right x-ray accomplished. Dr. Martens PA came in and did some testing on my shoulder. He was very nice and professional. Dr. Martin came in And told me my options and was very conservative which I appreciated ,on my progress of healing my right shoulder. I love your team. I love your facility I’ll be back!
Always makes time to see me even though the PA could take care of the appointment.
Absolutely horrible. Worst Dr. I have ever been to in my entire life. Calling him a Dr. is a joke. He cares more about his precious reputation more than helping people that need help desperately. After meeting with him I am suicidal. I will never come to his practice again and I will give him a bad review to anyone that I meet to avoid him.
BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS MAN. He is so busy he does not pay attention to patient detail like their existing medications or pre existing conditions. In my case (and apparently several others per Vitals reviews) he doesn't even read your history to fully understand why you are at his clinic. He will arrive late to your appointment and flustered and ill prepared. I had the very dangerous experience of D. Sheldon Martin prescribing a dangerous combination of medication to treat me. My primary care physician and two other orthopedic surgeons all agreed he never should have prescribed the combination of medication that he did. Ortho Arizona is a very large practice, there are some very talented physicians there that will take the time to focus on your care, sadly Sheldon Martin is not one of them. Do yourself a favor and do not see him
2 knee replacements and a shoulder replacement with Dr Martin. Excellect Dr and surgen. Would highly reccomend.
Thank you Dr. Sheldon for calming my thoughts and concerns.
Not always prompt but an excellent surgeon and I’m very happy with the outcome of my surgery.
Dr martin is upfront and explains everything so easy to follow. Highly recommend to any new patient. Sometimes wait is a little longer but worth it. Honest doctor looking out for his patients best interest.
My wait time felt a little long, but once I was called in I saw the NP and Dr. within a minute or 2. They both diagnosed my problem quickly and were extremely professional and kind. My issue was addressed, my questions were answered, a plan of action was provided, and I was on my way in a few minutes. Easy peasy!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
