Vera Whole Health - Flagstaff's Online Review Report Card

First, I would like to state that the office is really clean and looks professional. Medical/administrative staff was really nice and welcoming.I had an original appointment last week (flu shot/Dr appointment/biometric screening) that I had to unfortunately reschedule. When I called last Friday the lady on the phone was really nice and helped me move my appointment to today. However, when I got there I was unable to get the flu shot (they didn’t do them because the season was almost over so I guess I missed them by a week - fine that’s understandable) and I was informed I wouldn’t be seeing a medical provider. What?The person that moved my appointment to today, which is all I wanted done, changed it to a simple MA visit for the screening. I didn’t see a medical provider, I didn’t get to discuss my results with anyone nor did anyone even try to tell me why my numbers are what they are. The screen was just turned my way and basically read off to me (something I honestly could have done myself with the equipment and chart telling me what is a therapeutic/normal range). Furthermore, I had other issues I wanted to discuss with the provider and really was looking forward to this visit (pertaining to family medical history and some SX I have been experiencing).Although the MA today was professional - they didn’t really seem to care about the misunderstanding and just walked me to the front to get my ‘papers.’ In the exam room, they acknowledged they could see my original appointment was with a Dr but offered no real solutions beyond making another appointment in the future (burning through my limited PST). Its as if she was trying usher me out at quickly as possible.Not one person tried to find a solution beyond “schedule an appointment at a later date” but I already used 3hrs of sick time for today and don’t really have the PST to just spare on misunderstandings. I am so disheartened and disappointed with the way this was handled. No compassion. Nothing. Just an “oops” and “you can always make another appointment.” If it wasn’t for this I’m sure this place would have gotten three more stars. Our (the PTs) time is also important, our benefit allotment is finite, and just this simple misunderstanding is the opposite of catering to whole (or wholistic) health, ironically.Please, work on communicating better with the community that looks to you for preventive and primary care.

Although I can't always get a same day appointment, I have always been more than happy with the care I've received at Vera. Great staff, offering great service--they take the time to be thorough, so I never feel rushed. There have been many times I've gone to get something checked out, whereas if I'd had to pay a co-pay I would have put it off.

Did the normal routine got my blood pressure checked then the nurse stepped away to check if my Room was ready, I told her (jokingly) don't forget the mint on the pillow. When she escorted me to my exam Room sure enough there was a Life savers mint on the pillow. I love a good sense of humor!!!😁

i have to agree w/ Sandra C on this one. Same day appointments are a myth. I set up an on-line appointment only to have the front desk call minutes later to cancel it, seems another appointment was extended. Called back only to have call routed to an out of state call center, yay. At least now when I do get my free physical the med assistant does not ask me if I am on meds that I never have been on, glad they figured that one out. Also concerning is how people who I have never met, or been treated by, call me with results from tests or procedures, and they are absolutely 100% wrong! Oh she promised to look into my file, after the call not before, and get back to me...still waiting. Office manager could not find any record of who it was that called me, hmmm maybe someone overstepped their credentials and either erased or did not document the incident. Vera is free to "trust employees" we get what we pay for.

Excellent, prompt and courteous service - every visit is consistent and professional, with onsite medical doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapist and amazing health coaches! A great experience.

Are you kidding me. This clinic is as good as it gets. Dr. Frank is an outstanding doctor! And, the rest of the team are smart and caring.I don't know about y'all but I have waited for hours in other doc offices/clinics. The few times that I couldn't get in the Vera Whole Health - Flagstaff, they put me on a wait list and I was called in a reasonable time frame. Vera was promised to local government employees as a same day, one hour appointments. In the almost three years we've had it, this has never happened for my husband, daughter, myself, my staff of 17 nor myself. A month ago I was desperately ill. I called and received a next day appointment. I could barely move to get out of bed and was so sick, but got dressed and made it to the car, then hit traffic. My husband is blind, so he cannot drive me and my daughter is away at college. I called as a courtesy to say that I was running 10 minutes late and explained my issue. The receptionist was as cold as a Flagstaff New year's morning. She said they had to cancel as I only had a 30 minute appointment. What happened to the hour long promise?.I told her I was fine with 20 minutes. She told me my appointment was already cancelled! Now I have been there.a couple of times and no one ever met me at the door to take me right back, so this was bogus! I was then sick in bed and missed 10 days of work! I struggled through the next two weeks self medicating when my husband said to swallow my pride and make another appointment as I wasn't getting well. I called on Wednesday and they gave me an appointment on MONDAY!   Definitely not same day and definitely not triaging as I'd been so ill for so long. I went to urgent care and was put on FOUR meds, because I am so sick. Then the snotty receptionist called this morning to offer me an application tommorow. When I pointed out her poor triaging and how sick I am, she coldly pointed out policy.  My story is not unique. We have reported to HR how several staff members have experienced when one has called and received an appointment a day or so out and later on the same day with the same symptoms another staff member calls and gets an appointment sooner. It's not because one opens up because we always say that we want to be on the wait list. Other states have poor review for Vera. We were assured this one would be different. Just another broken promise.

Great experience from the time I arrived and until I left. Everyone there was welcoming and caring. Each person I saw took the time with me and answered all my questions. I had my blood drawn for some testing ordered by my doctor and they had the results the next day for me.I arrived 15 minutes before they were open and the receptionist open the door and let me wait inside. She also gave me my paperwork which I filled out before I saw Karleen, my health coach. Then the nurse took all of my vitals and then I met with the nurse practitioner, Janet, who was great. She also gave me some suggestions for my allergies. Overall a great experience. Everyone there exceeded my expectations.
