List of Russell Homewood's Reviews
I used to see Dr Homewood about 6 years ago when he had a private practice on Baseline Rd. He was an attentive professional. I decided to look him up again as my insurance allows any Dr. His practice is with Village Medical in Walgreens. 1st thing I noticed is Dr. Homewood isn’t attentive at all. More like he just asks a few questions and wants to leave. He mis diagnosed shingles & recommended I get a shot. A dermatologist later that week confirmed it wasn’t shingles. X-ray made of my knee & wrist. At my follow up appt. Dr. Homewood didn’t seem aware that I had X-rays to review! I had to remind him. He just casually said I have severe arthritis & that was that. I asked about therapy & he said another Dr could do that. He casually mentioned my bloodwork but didn’t say I am borderline diabetic which I read in my results. Village Medical is a joke. You go through a National call center for messages to staff. Refills? No luck tried twice through app. Theranos was a lesson Walgreens! Learn!
They will not answer phone
They take your insurance info every time you walk in and don't give back your ins card until you leave. One time I was late to my next appointment cuz I couldn't find my card(found out on the way there they had it), and when I got there they refused to see me cuz I was 10 minutes late. The doctor was on his way out the door when I arrived, and they knew I was coming. Just recently I got a bill with a rebilling fee, charging me $20 for not paying my entire copay ($5 short) for a visit 2 months ago. Thankfully they didn't make me pay that since it was their mistake for not charging me the right amount. The front office staff is unsympathetic and the policies are ridiculous. They punish you with fees if you don't adhere to their policies and make you come in and pay money every time you need a refill on something. Dr Homewood himself is wonderful and his medical assistants are very knowledgeable and friendly, but I would suggest looking elsewhere for care to save yourself the frustration.
I have an ear ache. I called the Dr to make an appointment to be seen and they refused because I have a covid 19 symptom. I explained I was tested a few days earlier (negative results) but they still refused. I my time of need for a health professional they walked away and said go someplace else. Very disappointing. This is not how A Healthcare facility should work.
I’ve been with this practice for several years. They are very unhelpful. Won’t do anything without a visit such as refill prescriptions. Went for continued sinus and fatigue issues and they never found the problem. Even charged me $25 for a signature.
They are after your money I have been taking the same medicine (blood pressure) for 11 years. This clinic forces me to come in every time I need a refill. Annoying, not necessary and a simple way for them to get money from my insurance. I have more bad things to say but I won't. I have been a patient there for years and have never once met Homewood. I think he is running a front for a medical office simply relying on his PA's to do the work for him (they are good by the way) I'm done - they have lost a patient.
I have a serious back injury. I injured it again and have been trying to resolve the issue. Unfortunately Ashlynn at the front desk does not posses compassion or empathy for Dr. Homewoods patients. She refused to get me to someone that could help and rudely hung up the phone. Being rude and hanging up on patients is not good practice. Aside from the nasty behavior from the front desk, I would advise Dr. Homewood that when someone requires medication to sleep, you should not write them a script with the directions to take one every other night. I literally only got half the script and it really does say, "For sleep take one pill every other night". I guess with Dr. Homewood, I get to stay in this terrible pain due to his "policies" and I only get to sleep every other night. I've been going to doctors for 28 years with this injury and I have never had such a bad experience.
Great doctor prompt , doesn’t keep people waiting ,Ask you questions, gets to know you, very professionalGreat sense of humor
Dr. Russell Homewood has been our family doctor for years now and we trust him to make important decisions regarding our health and well being. He is able to help recommend the best possible solutions in getting well. Upon leaving the hospital my nurses were concerned who was my regular doctor I told them Dr. Homewood they were happy because they use him too and that speaks volumes to me as to the type of provider he is. It is excellent he doesn't rush and make sure you understand everything he is telling you in regards to your care.
Dr. Homewood is a wonderful caring kind compassionate and empathetic family doctor. I trust my entire family's care with him and his staff. He is very knowledgeable in his field and listens to you. I know I am not alone when faced with a life or death matter after being hospitalized he is who I can trust to turn to. I highly recommend him because he stays current in new medicine and treatment techniques. He knows each and every one of his patients and treats them as if they were a member of his family. Excellent healthcare is hard to find in today's world yet he manages to go the extra mile.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
