New in town and needed a new Primary Care Provider. Went to see Dr Awad to establish care in the event I actually do get sick or need medical attention, I’ll already have someone to seek treatment from. First, the location is not very desirable. The entire aesthetic leaves much to be desired. But I decided I was going to give it a try anyway. Sometimes, the outside is not everything. So, I enter the doorway and that leaves much to be desired as well. Should have went with my instincts. Everything about this office was very dated and old and run down. I actually wanted to make a run for it. BUT I decide I’m going to stick it out and stay. From the waiting area to the seating (very soiled I didn’t even want to sit in any of the seats) to the decor which was sparse, mismatched and thrown together, to the smell—everything was very unappealing. Most of all, this office looked very unclean and unsanitary. The exam room I was assigned to was also furnished with thrown together furniture, old exam tables with torn upholstery, and holes in the ceiling. Their equipment (weight scales, blood pressure machine, etc) looked like it all came from a drug store and not professional grade at all.....I could go on but that’s not really my point. My point is that this doctor did not make me feel comfortable in her care AT ALL. First, she looked like she just jumped out of bed. Her hair was disheveled and quite frankly, a mess. Then she “examines” me and asks me all sorts of questions. I answer all her questions, mostly reiterating that I’m current on all my physical exams and bloodwork and just looking to establish care. Throughout my “exam” she attempts to, what I feel, nickel and dime me, suggesting I get my bloodwork done because I “look” anemic. I tell her I JUST had my bloodwork done a couple months ago and everything came back okay. She says, oh, I don’t go by bloodwork, I go by “looks.” Ummm....okay, then why are you asking me to get my bloodwork done then? Either way, I decline. She then asks if I’d like a Vitamin B12 shot. No, I’m fine. She then says, would you like me to do an EKG. I tell her I already have a cardiologist whom I visit every 6 months. She basically goes down a list trying to get me to have some sort of procedure done. I decline all of them. The “exam” is done and she asks me to wait in the waiting room. Although she is pleasant for the most part, I just can’t allow myself to be under her care. I do NOT have any confidence in her abilities. And that’s really putting it kindly. But here’s the REAL kicker: (we’re in COVID times) she is wearing her mask pulled down from her nose and only covering her mouth. What???? SMH. Yeah, no thank you. Bye.

She is a good doctor but her staff are very rude.they treat patients very bad way.I hate waiting in her office because of her staff.her clinic is clean.the doctor is nice but some times she does not spend enough time with me.

the doctor is great. But they are completely unorganized. I am a disabled pain patient and this is my new primary care doctor, under my new insurance plan who needed to refer me to new specialists. They misplaced my referral paperwork the first week. I went in again a week later and they found the lost referral info and said they would submit it and try to get me an emergency appointment. Another week later there was still no referral request per my health insurance plan. I have enough pain to go to the ER and they still can't get their stuff together. Also, I had two medications that needed prior authorization. 1 for an infection that can easily spread to the kidneys and 1 week after the doctor prescribed it, she still has not requested authorization for it, it is 100 percent not worth going to the doctor if they can't get you the medical care that you need. If you have a cold or a very very very basic issue then this office is fine. But expect the staff to ignore you and expect any work that needs to be done to take weeks or even a month. Horrible.

I have had HORRIBLE experiences with PCPs that don't care in my 8 years in Phoenix. I switched to Dr Awad with low hopes and she just blew me away. She is so kind and so caring. A couple times I've had trouble paying even the $5 copay because I was out of work and sick and she waved it. She GENUINELY cares. She's given me samples of meds I needed when I was unable to get to a pharmacy. She IS religious (so am I, but different) so if you're a Christian she will help you in your faith while you're there too. Just if you're not Christian, don't be offended if she has you watch videos or talks to you about faith. She's not doing it to disrespect you, she just loves everyone so much she wants to make ALL of your being healthy. Drives me nuts sometimes, but God bless this woman. Without her, my health would have gone downhill fast with my disabilities. And any referral I need, her staff takes care of it as soon as she asks. SAME DAY you have the referral most times. I HIGHLY recommend her.

This Physician showed extreme concern for me as a patient and was absolutely compassionate towards my needs concerning my problems. I work with Physicians with the same bedside manner, but not all of the Physicians I work for have it. It is a rare find and I'm grateful to accidentally stumble across this Physician.
