List of James Carpenter's Reviews
What a terrible office. I made an appointment because I'd been throwing up for a couple weeks with horrible stomach and back pain, and missed work, already went to urgent care once and they didn't help. When I called to make an appointment they said I could go in to see another doctor, as mine was fully booked. They called me an HOUR before my appointment, when I've already put in for my sick time for today, and told me the doctor refused to see me because I was established with a different doctor at the same office. So now I have to go to the hospital and pay 3x as much just to get seen. So unprofessional and rude, thanks for nothing.
I was a patient of Dr. Carpenter for over 10 years when I lived in Phoenix. I was very happy with the care that Dr. Carpenter gave me during this time. I found him to be knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding. I retired 3 years ago and moved away from Phoenix so I don't see him any more. If you are looking for an outstanding doctor, please book an appointment. You will be so glad that you did.
I caregive for my mom who has Alzheimers, and Dr Carpenter was her primary care physician. His office is in general completely unresponsive, but I was able to rely on her other specialists when issues came up. When my mom did have a serious issue that required Dr Carpenter, after 8 weeks of trying to get a hold of Dr Carpenter's office to no avail, I had to change doctor to get my mom care. Rude, dismissive, no follow up on tests, etc. A nightmare to deal with.
I just had an appointment withDr Carpenter on Wednesday & he is awesome. Very personable, listen to me, ask me questions about myself, medical issues & explained in detail the questions I had. It’s hard to find a good doctor & I can say I highly recommend him.
This was the Doctor Chosen for my husband by his insurance. When I called to make an appt for a New patient consult on 7/19/19 I was told that the first available appt was 3/5/20. you can Imagine my surprise when I said im sorry do you mean August 5th? and the telephone operator laughed and said "no mam' I said march as in next year" I work in the medical field and to me this does not seem like quality pt care at all!
I have been a patient of Dr. Carpenter's for the last 12 years and I can honestly say that he has been so attentive to all my concerns. If I am concerned about a health issue, he listens and acts instantly on the matter. He is friendly, timely and has a wonderful bedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Carpenter.
The use of the patient portal as the only means of communicating with doctor or staff is grossly inadequate at best in providing quality patient care. Changing doctor.
For the last fifteen years Dr Carpenter has been my primary physician, and I can say without reservation that he is the best doctor that I have had in the 73+ years of my life. He is a friend and a confidant, and I truly believe that my welfare is of primary importance when I talk to him. There may be better doctors out there, but I haven't met them. Thanks Doctor Carpenter!
I just had my 1st visit today with Dr. Carpenter. Let me tell you, it was a great visit. He was very polite and happy. Dr. Carpenter listened(which is key) and addressed my concerns. He did not rush me through my appointment. I am very happy that I got to see him today. I will definitely be coming back.
Dr. James Carpenter was my doctor when I lived in Glendale, AZ. He was very good and had the knowledge along with my well being in mind to also refer me to a heart specialist. Thank you very much for your service.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
