Really bad service today Nov 20th I suppose to have my appointment at 9am I arrived at 8;50 I checked in at that time and passed 45 minutes ans I asked for my appointment and the girl forgot to put me on the system..I lost my appointment 🙃 😑 😡😡😡
I had a terrible experience with this facility. I was referred to Stephanie Kool but for some reason was placed with Jeri Gentry, who’s psychologist license was revoked after our second or third session. She was quite the opposite of helpful during our sessions. She was cold and used her own personal experiences as excuses in what I had experienced. One time I showed up for my session and she said she was too busy to see me. She still charged my insurance for it.
First off almost impossible to get ahold of. I will call 4 or more times a day and no one answers the phone. Second I had come here when I was a minor for therapy but now that I'm an adult I made it very clear I didn't want my parents contacted or involved at all. I had asked the lady I talked to, to delete their numbers from my account and make my number the only one on the profile. Two days ago my Dad called me and said he got a call from Desert Sage saying to reschedule my appointment and a bunch of other stuff that I had talked about in my appointment. My parents make a big deal out of everything which is why I didn't want them involved. I have called Desert Sage again 4 times or more every day and I am going to try to email. I find it very disappointing that my wishes were not met with the confidentiality of my therapy. If someone could please call me back or give me a suggestion to another counseling office I would greatly appreciate it.
Dr. Kool is an amazing licensed Psychologist. I have known Dr. Kool for several years and she is very knowledgeable, caring, and well-educated She has helped our family for at least 3 years. We would not go anywhere else. Give them a chance and they will change your life for the better. Please remember that you need to be involved and participate in your recovery.
I went to Desert Sage Health for general counseling. After a super-intense questionnaire and intake interview, I was matched with a counselor. She did not provide any helpful tools and didn't provide much direction. The only thing she did was send me a few articles to read via email. I subsequently asked to switch to someone else. The 2nd counselor was judgmental, and I almost walked out during our first session. I did not return after that. While the facility is nice and their services were covered (with a $40.00 co-pay) by insurance - this counseling center did nothing to help me. While it is nice to have counseling covered by insurance - going private-pay is a better option. I went to The Sanity Center (private-pay) and have been extremely happy. It was a totally different experience.
$500+ just for first time visit.. then you go to schedule for follow up and they don’t have any appointments on Tuesdays which is when I needed them. Very unfriendly when it comes to their rates and appointments.
Great facility and staff. One of the better mental health experiences I have had. Pay no attention to the low star reviews from people salty about their therapist leaving. That's on the therapist, not Desert Sage as an aggregate provider of mental health professionals. Also realize that someone's "bad" experience might be because they were told something they didn't want to hear but needed to...or they weren't fully ready to unpack issues and do the hard work required to get through them. Give Desert Sage a shot if you're serious about getting the help you need.
I have had an amazing experience here. Lots of healing. Lots of breakthrough. I highly recommend Desert Sage
This place charges a arm and a leg for the initial consultation after a couple of visits they kept canceling our visits because the doctor was out sick so they would schedule us out a month out. So now 2 months without being seen. never rescheduled us with another doctor terrible service. Don’t go here!!!
❌❌❌❌❌ ERASMO RODRIGUEZ, LPC ❌❌❌❌❌ is careless and sloppy in his practice. He 💤💤💤 FELL ASLEEP 💤💤💤 during a session! The first session was all of the informed consents and technical information about the EMDR therapy he was supposed to be providing. At several visits, I asked when we would actually start the EMDR. Every time ... "Next visit." Well, there will be no NEXT visit with this ... incompetent individual. ‼️‼️‼️ He FELL ASLEEP during a session. ‼️‼️‼️ I specifically watched him on what became the last visit, because I thought he might have been dozing off during the session before that. And then he actually ‼️FELL ASLEEP‼️ in what became our final session. I requested to see my treatment notes from my sessions with him. Over the course of my "treatment" with him, he incorrectly recorded factual and pertinent information, because he wasn't listening. His notes were completely disjointed, like he only remembered one detail, and it was an insignificant one that was irrelevant to "the big picture," because he wasn't listening. He failed to observe my body language, my speech patterns, or associated traumas and triggers. Because he was staring out the window day dreaming or he was nodding off or sleeping. I was there to seek support and healing from complex chronic PTSD and emotional abuse ... And all I wanted was to be seen, heard, understood. To have someone help me figure out why I feel this way. Someone to teach me how to manage those feelings in a positive way. And he violated all of the vulnerability and past traumas I shared with him. He made me rip off every emotional scab I have, in the name of treatment I NEVER received - and then nodded off during one session and full on FELL ASLEEP during another appointment. I am so hurt, so degraded. So violated and exposed. So raw and insulted. So disrespected and disregarded. All I wanted was help. He FELL ASLEEP. And now I have wasted TWO months of treatment time. I am now WORSE than when I started with him. I will stick with the practice because there ARE good providers there, and the front office and admin staff are fantastic. Dr. Kool, the clinical director and an owner of the practice, is seeing me now, and she and the staff have been extraordinary at making sure I NEVER have to see that inept napping noodle's abhorrent face again, even in the lobby. I genuinely hope he is helpful and beneficial to someone out there. I hope his cloddish dereliction of doctor-patient relationship isn't as ruinous to other patients as it was for me. I hope no one else has to suffer and have further damage inflected on their health by his inattentive and indifferent neglect. This hack "therapist" actually inflicted more pain while he violated every confidence, humiliated me by making me feel so insignificant and unimportant, and left me more defective than when I had the misfortune of being paired with him for EMDR. PLEASE, do not book an appointment with Erasmo, unless you want to feel worse about yourself in two months time. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners and maybe they can offer this doltish amateur some basic treatment tips, like, maybe DON'T FALL ASLEEP while your clients are pouring their guts out!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
