List of Arizona Spine & Joint Hospital's Reviews
**This post is not about my surgeon or the nurse, because they were fantastic. This is to spread awareness about the administrative nightmare I have endured for the last 6 months.Prior to my surgery, I called the hospital, the surgeon and the anesthesiologist to find out how much this surgery would cost me. I am self employed and needed to make sure I could afford to proceed with fusion L5-S1. I was told by the staff that my portion would be $5500 and was given a written estimate. I decided to proceed with the surgery based on this information. I was told I needed to come to the hospital the day before my surgery to take a covid test and to pay some or all of my portion owed. I paid $4000 and was given a receipt which was stapled to my $5500 estimate. My balance was $1500 and I agreed to pay it after my surgery, once they had billed my insurance. To my surprise, I began receiving bills from the hospital in the amount of $10,361.26.I called the hospital to figure out what this mistake could possibly be. I figured they had some clerical issues and wanted to clear this up as soon as possible. I was told that they had made a mistake in communicating with my insurance and that I did in fact owe the $10,361.26 on top of the $4000 I had already paid. My decision to follow through with this surgery was based on the information provided to me by AZ Spine & Joint Hospital. I would have never agreed to proceed with the surgery had I known that my portion to just the hospital (not including my surgeon and anesthesiologist) would be $14,361.26. I would have waited until January 2023, saved enough money and been able to use my insurance (once the deductible had been met) for the rest of 2023 without having to pay any out of pocket. I am 7 months post op, there is no turning back now. There is no way to turn back time, change my mind about the surgery or give back the titanium placed in my spine. What they are doing is unethical and morally wrong. You cannot charge someone 261% over the estimated amount. Their clerical error is despicable business practice and now I'm left with nowhere to turn. I received a call from Melissa, the revenue cycle manager, who took no responsibility for the mistake made by her department. She offered me more time to pay the $10,361.26 or for me to apply for financial hardship. THAT IS NOT THE POINT. SHE AND HER DEPARTMENT MADE A MISTAKE.
These so called professionals transferred my wife to a rehab in the middle of the night without my knowledge! DO NOT come to this clown house for care!!
Forget about the negative reviews you see, there are still some legit managers. I have tried so many managers and I got scammed until I met Mrs SHIRLEY WAGNER, her 100% legit and reliable. I just made my 3rd withdrawal all by myself without any extra charges. This time I invested $2500 and profited $26,320. Email: shirleywagner092@gmail.com WhatsApp: +1(305)699_4247 Don't hesitate.
I had to go in for a knee replacement. I have never ever been taken such good care of. They are very caring and catered to my every need. Everyone was so nice . I would so recommend this place to anybody who's getting spine or knee surgery.
2 minutes agoNEWOh my GOD stay clear of this place. In there pamphlet it says they will walk you twice a day after fusion what a laugh the lazy PT lady walked me across the hall 4 steps if that and back pitful. She then the next day half way down the hall what a joke. When I was discharged within 15 minutes i was in my walker felt like an ICE pick in my back and my right leg collapsed luckily I didn't fall I called the so called hospital 15 minutes after discharge to tell them about this and they brushed me off and said call ur doctor. Why didnt they notify my doctor also. They didnt care no compassion worthless a normal facility would have notified my Dr but this place isn't normal.Long story short my right L5 Pedicle screw was dislodged and into the L5 nerve root and totally fractured the pedicle and was floating around within that space from July 29 to Aug 8. 2 MA's and the PA Beth Foley didn't tell the Doctor I had called god help us what an incompetent low life POS. When i asked which emergency room I should go to I was told Beth said ur ok take a pain pill and lay down. The next day I went to Mercy Gilbert in unbearable pain since July 29 TEN days since discharge, They did a CT and found the right L5 pedicle screw dislodged and into the L5 nerve root with a totally fractured pedicle and other vertebrateDamages. If these low lifes would have directly notifiedmy doctor this wouldn't have been total Catastrophic failure.Stay clear of these POS
5 STARS for sure. Great efficient and caring staff. I had a spine operation on 10-05-2022 at the hospital and could not be more pleased with the care I received. I want to particularly commend and compliment Ashley Dawson, RN Day nurse. She is exceptionally efficient and went out of her way to cheer me up. She is the kind of RN we all wish we have when we are hospitalized. Thanks Ashley
This is hands down the best hospital I have ever stayed in. I had a cervical discectomy and fusion. From the minute i checked in until the time i checked out all staff were extremely caring and attentive. Very polite and understanding, extremely helpful and constantly making sure you are ok and always offering any help whenever needed. I felt all staff went above and beyond during my stay. Made me feel very comfortable and also helped calm my nerves. Would highly recommend!
10 stars would be more like it! Had hip replacement surgery here….by Dr Bryce. All the staff kind, professional, willing to go the extra distance. Day shift staff Michelle in pre op, Amber, Genesis, Night shift staff, Nancy , Chris you made me feel safe and secure at all times. I bless you all. PT was ever so gentle and caring, felt I could do what they asked always. Please keep up the great work, you are all doing a exceptional job!!!
I had a spine operation on 10-05-2022 and I have to give the Hospital a 5 star rating. Very efficient and caring staff. I want to particularly commend day shift RN Ashley Dawson. What a terrific nurse. She went the extra mile to cheer me up. She's the kind of RN we all wish for when we are hospitalized.
Dr. Song took the time to explain the best course of action regarding my decade old back injury. We ultimately decided that surgery was the best solution and that a fusion at L5-S1 was a necessity. I had been living in immense amount of pain for a prolonged amount of time (approx 17 months) due to the incompetent staff of the VA healthcare system. Knowing this, Dr. Song was able to schedule me for surgery within weeks of my original appointment. My experience at the Arizona Joint and Spine Hospital was unlike any I’ve had before. The facility, although smaller than a typical hospital, was very clean, modern, and a comfortable environment. It is clear that the owning physicians take a lot of pride in their place of work. The staff was phenomenal! During my stay I was not treated like a nuisance, and was provided with exceptional care. I have never been treated so kindly at a hospital. I am currently 5 days post surgery and could not be more satisfied with the results. The unbearable nerve pain I was experiencing has subsided and I am beginning to gain my strength back. I would absolutely recommend this facility and Dr. Song for individuals who are in need of surgery. I could not be more satisfied with my experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
