My father has been a patient at this office for several years. His doctor is great. The practice's method of dealing with appointments is ridiculous. His appointment was at 10:00 am. He is still waiting to see the doctor at 12:28 pm. This is not an uncommon occurance. It is 2024. This practice needs a significantly improved system for patient management and care.
Experienced my first-ever panic attack here, today. I came in after being referred here for tears in one of my retinas. Shoutout to Hector for taking my (second) call and slotting me in right away. First time I called at 8:15am this morning, it was almost a 30 min wait to be told "our systems are down, we'll call you back lol." Love to hear that when my vision was getting worse from the day before. If you're not old enough to collect social security or retirement, be prepared to wait. At one point, I managed an almost two hour nap in the doc's office. Gee, thanks for taking the time to meet with "us people with our small pupils." Bedside manner was non-existent. I felt like an anomaly, which I know I am, but Jesus, I hated being told more than once I'm hard to dilate with my small pupils. Believe me, I KNOW. Then the laser was brought out. Seriously, if you experience panic attacks, please have a family member or loved one with you. I have no immediate family here and was all on my own. It CAN hurt and was a very intense and uncomfortable experience. I was a mess when it was all over. Extra special thank you to Crystal for spending time with me and calmed me down. The experience could be legit traumatizing to some people. I did not know I had a panic attack until I described the sensations to a friend of mine (broke out in a sweat, chills, hyperventilating, my hands tightened closed and would not relax). No one there mentioned I was having a panic attack. I wanted to point this out specifically for the staff to watch out for these signs going forward. While I had a shit afternoon, everyone I've interacted with, except the doctor, were excellent and genuine human beings. Final shoutouts to Steven and Brianna for being so chill. Reading the rest of the reviews here, I guess your mileage will vary. Wildly, apparently.
I would provide a 0 star if I could. Unfortunately this office has failed another patient today and based on the 2.9 rating, I guess I should not be surprised. This office unfortunately failed to announce the fact that as a first time patient, you need to have your eyes dilated. As for me personally, I feel like taking the 3 seconds to mention that before the appointment or even in the follow up text that they send, add in a *Hey, just a heads up, your eyes will get dilated this visit.* The SEVERE lack of communications is one thing, but for it to be made out like I was the one wasting the staffs time is some impressive entitlement. I requested a call with the office manager and it has been over 2 hours and they have not reached back out. Here we are again with the severe lack of communications. I will not be stepping back into this office, and I would encourage others to do the same. It is astonishing amount of just not caring. This is a Ophthalmology Clinic, and I'm assuming the folks that are patients are more than likely worried about the ability to SEE things, something I also can assume that most of us are very passionate about. Well, this clinic is not, it does not seem to be there for support. I will give credit where credit is due, the front desk team member was a very helpful gentleman, very pleasant to speak to and was able to help me out. So thank you for that.
Avoid this place! I have brought my mom to this place for years. The waits are tolerable but the run down facility and demeaning front office staff has gone from bad to worse. Overcrowded waiting area, one deplorable bathroom, and potholed parking lot. They treat patients like cattle. Make a choice and go somewhere else.
I had a detached retina and they were able to get me in to see the doc the next day. Surgery was scheduled the day after that. I was so impressed that I was seen that quickly. The staff was all very kind, professional and helpful. I can't say enough positive things about everyone who assisted me.
I wish I could’ve read the reviews before agreeing to commit to this office for my exam. My wait time was 45 mins plus! Spread out through each room. Dress like you’re going to be up north because it’s freezing! My suggestion is they ALL take another class for time management. All these smart watches on everyone wrists here and still can’t finish an exam under 3 hours.
The office may have highly qualified doctors but they lack awareness and compassion when it comes to patient care . We should not be waiting 2 plus hours and be the first patient there while the doc is busy anywhere BUT at the office . How is is acceptable care ??? I was the first patient today and I was seen after 1.5 hrs which sounds amazing for his usual time BUT everyone after me is now late by god knows what . We don’t have all day and we don’t all want to spend hours waiting to be seen for 4 minutes !!! Please do not respond with the standard we will strive to do better - it’s been 12 years as a patient and the only reason I’m there is because I’m exhausted to search about for other retinal doctors - every review seems to be based around their tardiness . Please ask Dr Gordon how would he like it if I was hours late - will be be waiting for me ???? I doubt it ….
The office staff has always been knowledgeable and courteous. Dr DeSouza and his support staff top notch the best around. Thanks
One thing for sure is that Dr. Gordon values no one else's time more than his own. Each visit lasts three hours! Yeah he's not that great he just has a degree from G.O.D. University which allows him to hold his elderly patients hostage for this period of time. Look elsewhere, unless you want to pass over whilst waiting to see him.
I would give them zero if i can… horrible! If you have an appt there make sure to free 3-4 hours of your time… it is like your time is not valuable! They need to stop booking multiple patients at the same time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
