Barbara Newman's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Newman was my provider for my firdt baby. I regret this decision. She was not easy to talk to. I always felt like I was being judged. She talked at me, not to me. She made me feel like I wasnt smart enough to have a say in my own care and laughed at me when I told her I wanted to try without an epidural. I had a traumatizing birth experience in which she was incredibly rude to me and continually tried to rush me through my labor by saying she was going to perform unnecessary, non medically indicated procedures to move things along. At one point she even told me she was leaving on vacation the next day and if i didnt consent that she was going to leave and not come back. She does know her stuff and my baby and I survived the experience... but that really is the only positives I have to say about her.

Dr. Newman delivered 2 of my children. The most amazing caring professional yet personal ob I've ever had. She is amazing I would suggest anyone that is pregnant to go to her and the staff at sunrise woman's health center.

She was amazing! She was so helpful and so funny. She always made me feel at ease. When I had to be induced early because of Cholestasis, she was very reassuring and so excited for me. She was wonderful and I will be going back to her even though I moved half an hour away.

Horrible doctor that should have her license permanently taken away!

Dr. Newman is unprofessional. She had little interest in explaining things to me or answering questions and half the time made feel like I was wasting her time. She didnt take my complaints of severe pain seriously and she diagnosed me as having a burst ovarian cyst which turned out to be an ectopic rupture (realized later after learning I was now infertile). My options were take a shot to end the pregnancy or she could do surgery to fish around for it. I was horrified at those options! Her bedside manner is atrocious. She is highly disorganized. Constantly forgot who I was. She doesnt seem to care about you as a patient. Avoid.

As a first time mother I had many questions and Dr Newman usually seemed anoyed or irritated or even irrationally mad at me for asking. Half the time I was there I felt like leaving. She scared me into doing a cervial sweep to induce (twice). She was very unprofessional for my second miscarriage with extreme pain which had been ectopic (I found out 2 years later) and instead misdiagnosed as an ovarian cyst at the time! I am only now realizing how lucky I am to have survived her. Unprofessional.

Dr. Newman is wonderful. She took the time to answer any questions that I had, and was comfortable with going forward with my birth plan with no questions asked. She stayed completely calm while I was having complications after birth and she kept me calm as well. She also made sure to check on me multiple times the day I had my daughter and the next day.

Dr. Newman delivered my first baby, during the actual labor she was fine, but monthly checkups would be a roller coaster. As this was my first pregnancy I did have questions, often I found her to be extremely impatience & condensing. I would leave the appointment telling myself to find another OB, alas I would stay & the following appointment she would be patient and friendly. Don't stick around like I did, find someone you feel comfortable with 100% of the time.
