BHT'S, NURSES, DOCTORS, HOUSEKEEPING, MEAL SERVICES...ALL deserve a raise...not happy about staying there but everyone was awesome even though they were overwhelmed...thanks so much.

Ok the "medical staff here are horrible. Do not admit anyone here . My daughter asked to get help because she was feeling very sad and suicidal. So i admitted her to valley wise behavior health center in Mesa, AZ. Worst thing I ever did in my life. While she was there, she was bullied by the staff, mimicked, told she was not going back home, unnecessary forceful restraint was used on her just because. And because she told on the staff who did that, they in turn treated her like a liar . She went there for help and was so scared that she wanted to kill herself. So they ruined her ever reaching out for help again, because she was basically punished and ridiculed. Unbelievable. Then I'm threatened with dcs really.This place is so bad they traumatized my daughter DO NOT GO HERE

The place is just as bad as UPC. My boyfriend hasn't even been in there 24 hours yet but has been treated well at all. They have kept him in a small room on the admitting floor since he's gotten there since before 5:00 am this morning. Every time he has had a question or needed something, the nursing staff would either do nothing for him, tell him "okay" and just stand there talking to each other, or ask him 6 different ways what he needs. This place is taking a toll on his mental health. Making it worse not better.

Amazing hospital in the adolescent side, i love Gail shes so great, lgbtq+ friendly and everyone cares! totally recommend and never go to oasis bh.

Ok let me update this review here. So, literally the only positive I would say about this review was a nurse telling me "if you don't take the pills you won't get out of here. Please I'm begging you. I know you're a good guy". Yes I had a huge breakdown that landed me at this place. Yes I now know I am bipolar 1. And I still think about that kind nurse. Everything I stated earlier about a lawyer coming up to you and saying "here are your options. 1 you leave the state for a year, 2 you go to court and get state court order treatment, or 3 you stay in here until they decide to release you". Ok so, like I stated early after speaking to me Mom I went with the court order option. Went to court which was literally inside the hospital, went in front of a judge and shut my mouth the entire time and plea the 5th. Accepted court order treatment by the state and was released later that day. Now finding out that people that are SMI have rights where if they don't like there stay they are able to be taken out and transferred to another hospital if they don't see themselves having proper treatments. Ok, so here's what i mean. When in there after talking to that sweet nurse that was kind to not only me but my parents as well I did take all of the medications that were given to me but I wanted to write down what was given to me because I was very loopy being the second time in my life being on medications. Well guess yet? With all the medications I took and wrote down, when I was leaving a technician made me throw all those notes out. Now the technicians. My Uncle served in the military and I am not religious. The amount of disrespect I received in there from technicians because I stated those in group was just unbelievable. I just could not believe how often I had to hear about my Uncle serving because I mentioned it with comments like "toughen up soldier" when I was nervous about blood withdrawals because it was my first time. Also remarks like "I was in the military this is nothing your uncle could handle this no problem": don't get me wrong I'm proud my uncle served in Vietnam. But I literally did not need to be reminded of it every day and laughed at just because the one time I mentioned it in group. I assumed those were private and how I did not need to hear it from technicians. As well as remarks like "god bless" after medication as well. Like I said I'm very respectful in terms of religion but I just was bothered by it.Also let me tell you this one. The phone time was so limited and when you would try to speak to family it was next to impossible because you would be right in front of all the other patients so zero privacy as well as when your parents come to the unit they literally get approached by other patients as well when your parents are coming to YOU. There was a time when I tried using the phone as well because it was my turn. My mom was going through breast cancer at the time and it was important I would get my short phone call to check on her when I was in there. Well. I went to the nurses desk and asked to use the phone since I waited during phone times and I wanted to make my short call. They refused. I walked up to the window and they said "don't pass the tape". Yes tape on the ground where I "could not walk". I mean really? I was on the tape line and the nurse hits a siren and no joke about 10 technicians come out of nowhere, lift me off my feet, take me in a side ride and tied me to a chair like I was in prison. I could not move and was in plain site for all of the other patients. Imagine being tied down and having other patients making remarks with technicians laughing at you. Then the staff telling my parents "he tried to escape so we had no choice". My Mom didn't buy it at all and I knew she believed me but with no privacy we could not talk about any of that on the phone or in the unit parents room like I said earlier because of patients in there. Lastly, good luck with the food if you or a loved one in there. Straight disgusting and no calories at all. I felt so sick because I wasn't getting enough calories in my body. And how about this policy? If your parents bring you food you can't eat it unless you eat your meal the hospital provides you? Really? I was in starvation mode and was shaking. Let me remind you, at the time I was in great shape where I was running 5 miles a day and going to the gym 6 days a week. So yes straight starvation mode. My mom noticed and couldn't believe it where she would bring me fast food, entire bags of chips, soda and just straight junk food. And I mean like 3 burgers a full bag of chips and gas station styrofoam cup. And I would down all of it which is crazy to think, but that is how bad the food at this hospital is. That's how much of starvation mode I was. And trust me my mom was not a fan of fast food either.
