List of Gregory Layton's Reviews
I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Layton. He delivered both my babies via c section. My first baby I was anxious the entire pregnancy due to 7 years of infertility but he helped me through those fears. He made us both feel so comfortable and informed with the entire process at every step. So when I found out about our second baby on the way there was no doubt in my mind to go back to him. I’m so grateful to him for being my dr and keeping our babies safe. Unfortunately we moved out of state but if I ever decide to have another baby I’d figure out a way to travel back to him. He’s the best OBGYN I’ve ever had.
Had him with my first, and would NOT recommend him, especially to first time moms. Not only was it difficult to pull information from him, but he treated it as just another day that he was trying to get done and over with, always seemed like he was in a rush and never put an effort to make any kind of relation, so it felt like he was always uninterested and it just always felt weird and awkward. I always had to wait an extra 20-30mins in the room only for him to come in for one minute just to tell me that everything was good. The staff there were nice though and never gave me any problems. If you do go with him, be prepared to do your own research and write down every question you have, because he will not give you ANY information.
I have been a patient of Dr Layton’s for 10+ years and am just as happy with him (and his office) today as I was when I first started going to his practice. He has delivered my babies, helped me through a devastating miscarriage and he takes the time to get to know me as a person— not just a patient. He has great bedside manner, he doesn’t rush through the appointment and he genuinely wants to help me with my healthcare needs. I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars.

I was referred to Dr. Layton's office by a co-worker & him assuming care as my physician was an answered prayer. Dr. Layton always presented me with all the facts and helped me figure out exactly what medical solution was best for me and my future plans. He was thorough and answered all my questions. What stood out to me the most was that he always treated me and gave me options like he would for his own daughter. Also, what I feel like separates him from a lot of other physicians is that he listened and connected with me as his patient and took the time to do so. The clinic staff was also always friendly and prompt in answering calls and scheduling appointments.
Maybe I just had an amazing OBGYN in Texas and am used to higher standards, but I would NOT recommend Dr. Layton. We moved to Arizona towards the end of my second pregnancy, and he was referred to me by a friend of a friend. I was consistently irritated by the 45+ minute wait times to actually get moved to a room past the waiting room, and irritated again by the 25+ minute waits to actually see the doctor after being moved to a room. I always had to budget at least 2 1/2 hours for every appointment because I'd spend around 1 1/2 hours just waiting to see Dr. Layton. I always showed up on time (10 minutes early, actually). About 8 weeks before giving birth, I broke out in a horrible, itchy, painful rash all over my body. I made an appointment with Dr. Layton and was diagnosed with PUPPs. When I asked him what caused it and what I should do to treat it, he said, "I don't know". WHAT? That gave me no help. After I got home, I scoured the internet and had to find my own information to help. I am still annoyed that I was paying him to be my doctor, and his answer was simply "I don't know"--not "I'll find out and get back to you", just "I don't know". Urgh! Upon my delivery day, I arrived at the hospital, was checked in on by nurses, and made it to 10 centimeters before even seeing him. At 10 centimeters, I was feeling strong urges to push, and Dr. Layton told the nurses he was going BACK TO HIS OFFICE! One nurse had to send another to chase him down, and I heard her mutter "I'm not delivering another one of his patients--this would be the third one this week". That did not give me any reassurance or confidence in my doctor. I was so irritated with him! And when the nurse that was sent after him brought him back into the room, HE seemed frustrated with ME! I still cannot believe the amount of unprofessionalism. Finally, when I went back for my 6 week check up, I waited in the waiting room for over an hour, just to be moved to a patient room and wait for another hour. I was frustrated, my newborn was fussy, and I was ready to just leave and find a different OBGYN when he finally came in. I will never recommend him to anyone. My experience was awful.
So happy I switched doctors to Dr Gregory Layton. 🙏🏼 he seriously has been the best.

Dr Layton (and especially his nurse(s)) are totally and completely wonderful, knowledgeable and dependable. I feel so fortunate to have found an OB who takes the time to answer all my questions and I couldn’t feel safer. Currently about to have my second child and I am so grateful to be in such capable competent hands. Not having any more kids (after this one) but you can bet your a$$ he would be my guy if we did!
Dr Layton delivered my first two babies. I didn’t necessarily love him for a number of reasons but never felt the need to change doctors. He does great during the actual deliver and is very friendly there. In his office, not so much. He is very to the point, which I appreciate. But where I struggle is he comes across uninterested and cold. He never remembered me, and it always felt like he was in rushed and typically dismissed my concerns. Not to mention I usually ended up waiting a least 45-60 minutes to actually see him. Again, not a huge deal because I understand the line of work, but I never heard a “hey, thanks for waiting.” Or “sorry for the long wait”. I ultimately decided to leave when I went to see him regarding my third pregnancy that I had suspected would be a miscarriage. After waiting a solid 45 minutes, He walks in as I am clearing my throat and very disgusted reminds me I need to have my mask over my nose, which I always try and do by the way. He says he needs to dismiss himself for a moment while I fix my mask. I was so embarrassed and cried my way home, not based on the fact that he coldly told me I miscarried, but the way he so rudely addressed my improper mask wear. It was the last straw for me. Not friendly staff. Long waits every time. And cold bedside manner from the doctor. Wouldn’t recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
