I found Dr. Nirenberg's expertise and skill as a medical doctor (Ophthalmology) extraordinary and exemplary. Moreover, I found him to be genuinely interested and focused my health rather than on the enhancement of his revenue stream. To all who read this review, please know that choosing him as your eye-care physician will be, in my opinion, one of the most wise decisions of your life. I had laser surgery on both eyes with Dr. Nirenberg. This has been a total success for me. He explains the total procedure and makes it easy to go through. His office staff is wonderful to deal with. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Nirenberg is a wonderful doctor and takes every precaution to make sure my eyes are in good health. He's very thorough and makes sure that I understand the information he gives to me. I don't do reviews often but feel that he deserves a good one.

The best of the Best! Dr. Nirenberg saved my eyesight. After a car accident, I knew there was something wrong with my vision. My family made an appointment with Dr. Nirenberg for me and I will be forever grateful. The impact of the accident had torn one retina and detached the other. Dr. Nirenberg quickly got me in to the retinal specialist so that surgery could be performed. Dr . Nirenberg and his staff really care about you. They treat you like you are a member of their family, not just a patient.

BEWARE - BOTCHED SURGERY!!! I will regret choosing Dr. Nirenberg to do my eyelid surgery for the rest of my life! He was careless, heartless and unprofessional to say the least. The last thing I remember before I went under anesthesia was catching his glance and asking him to "please take care of me." He said nothing. In retrospect, I should have listened to my gut instincts and ran out of the surgical center at that moment! But I didn't and now I have to pay for that decision every minute of every day for the rest of my life! My nightmare started in surgery when he unilaterally decided to raise the position of my natural eyelid crease and remove my fat pads, without my knowledge or consent. It's not how this procedure is typically done and it resulted in a "hollow eye" look and changed the appearance of my face. Worse yet, both of my eyes are very visibly scarred, my lids are uneven, my left eye twitches constantly, I have chronic dry eye and my vision is failing! It's really unbelievable! What I thought I was doing to correct my obstructed vision and reverse my aging appearance ended in a horror story! I would give anything if I could turn back time and chose another surgeon but I thought an ophthalmologist would take better care of the health of my eyes than a plastic surgeon would...what a grave mistake! It's hard to describe what this permanent physical, emotional and esthetic damage has done to my head, health and self-esteem! I'll never be the same. All I can do now is try to protect someone else from the same fate!

Dr Nirenberg is very helpful with any questions you may have with the health of your eyes, I have been going to him for many years and have always been happy with his staff and the excellent professional processes of all the paperwork handled by the staff. I recommend Dr Nirenberg to anyone needing a great professional doctor for any problems they may have with their eyes

I choose Dr. Nirenberg for my cataract eye surgery after going to 3 different doctors in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Mesa, and after reviewing credentials, and my experience with getting questions answered satisfactorily - so glad I did... Dr. Nirenberg definitely wasn't trying to sell me something... he explained everything to me, very thorough. If you're considering cataract surgery, especially any of those fancy multifocal lenses that are being offered, go with the best you can find, do your research. Go to East Valley Ophthalmology for a consultation... bring any questions you have and they will be answered fully. It's been a month since my surgery and I would highly recommend this place. This is a big decision and you want to feel confident in your doctor that he's doing it for the right reasons and knowing you have a great chance of success. That is what ultimately made me pick this place. Best choice of my life. :D
