Dr Andalkar's office staff was amazing! I was unable to attend appt in person so they set up a telehealth appt right away! Dr. Andalkar was so knowledgeable and thorough and really put my mind at ease as far as my next steps in getting a spinal stimulator. I highly recommend him, so kind and thorough, and extremely informative.
After surgery woke up with PINCHED Spinal cord ! Do NOT use this surgeon !After having a back surgery I woke UP and knew something was Wrong : lost equilibrium, shooting sharp pain down both legs, had other issues due to this surgeon!MRI after showed a L3-4 PINCHED Spinal cord ! He did this to me !Beware
LOVE Dr. Andalkar. He’s extremely knowledgeable, informative, realistic and explains things in a way that us regular people can understand. BUT….The office staff needs a LOT of work. If you schedule an appointment and you have a job that doesn’t allow for you to take personal calls during business hours, please be prepared for an outrageously excessive number of calls/voicemails (which get more rude, with each try), to confirm your appointment. I’ve received 5 today and a total of 9 in 3 days, from 4 different people, regarding my appointment tomorrow. Most medical offices leave a courteous voicemail reminder and ask that you call them back with any changes. And 90% have a simple text/email option, which is much easier for people with jobs. But not this place! They will psycho call you and demand that you call them back, just to say that you’ll be showing up for the appointment you’ve already scheduled for yourself. SMH extremely unprofessional and beyond annoying!!
Should be called the back butcher. He left me crippled. Would not do follow up. Would not answer calls. Screwd up what he called simple. Sold me on his skills like a used car salesman. The worst experience of this Veterans life.
If you want Competence & Credentials HE is it! I am 47 & have already had 9 back surgeries (out of my 21 major surgeries to date), so I know a great Doc versus a money grabber or assembly line surgeon.I was referred to Dr. Andalkar by my Pain Dr., and I am so pleased he did (even though I had to drive from Peoria to Mesa). Dr. Andalkar was honest and forthright and had clearly looked at and retained my extensive chart information and has familiarized himself with my significant medical history prior to walking in the room (which maybe 5 percent of all Doctors I have EVER seen do this).Being a surgeon you might think he will of course suggest a surgical procedure, but alas no; he actually said the opposite and gave me some wonderfully refreshing honesty about my complex spine issues.Other reviewers may or may not frequent Specialists, or have misguided hopes of miracle cure, or want their Doc to be bubbly & super congenial. I prefer a competent and straight-forward Doc who will do his job well, and that IS Dr Andalkar.

Doctor Andalkar and his staff saved my life. Honestly, I did not overstate it. I was not able to walk, stand, or even sit; my wife fed me while I lay flat on the bed. I went to the emergency room twice. They gave me the most potent pain medication that they have, but none of them worked, and they sent me home anyway. The last two days before my surgery it was so painful even when I lay in bed; I did not sleep at all. I do not know how many more days I can survive in that condition. I called Dr. Andalkar's office on Tuesday after the Memorial Day weekend. I cannot believe how lucky I was; someone canceled the 12:00 o'clock appointment to allow me to fill in that slot the same day; we went to rent a wheelchair and made it there right at noon. Dr. Andalkar and his staff helped me expedite the request for surgery. His office opens at nine and closes at five, but his staff called me as late as 6:45 PM and as early as 6:30 in the morning to help me with insurance approval, enabling me to have my surgery within two days as scheduled. Dr. Andalkar's skill is exceptional; I came into the hospital painfully in a wheelchair but was able to walk out of the hospital by myself the next day. This is my first time writing a review; I want to tell Dr. Andalkar and his staff how much I appreciate their help. Dr. Andalkar said a few times that he did not know, with my condition, why the hospital sent me home, but I agree with my wife that it was worth having pain for a few extra days to be in the good hands of Dr. Andalkar. I know there are many good doctors in the US, and Dr. Andalkar is one of them. However, his kindheartedness stands out differently; if you need help, you can trust him.
Not helpful for me. Disappointing. Staff was very friendly, got an appointment promptly, waited for over 40 minutes to get his opinion. He had no solutions, no 2nd opinion references, still hasn't given his opinion to my primary care physician 2 weeks after appointment. He was abrupt and dismissive.
Absolutely superb Dr. Professional, compassionate, thorough and honest! I continue to be grateful for his expertise and for correcting my neck issues.
I've know Dr.Andalkar since October of 2014 he performed my first surgery he put a fusion in my neck he did excellent job than he had to take out the old fusion and put in a new excellent job I bounce back like a ball. I highly recommend Dr.Andalker he is awesome Doctor.I love his staff especially his NP Brunette 😊 she is the best. I've met Nurse that treat his patients and they all think the same nice man.I wouldn't let anyone else preform neurosurgery on but Dr.Andalker. I'm so grateful thank you for all you do.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
