Very friendly staff, all extremely knowledgeable. Thorough exam. Even though in the end I was not a candidate for the surgery, I feel confident that had I been able to, the care and surgery would have been flawless. I also greatly appreciate the honest. They could have easily went ahead with the process, but my health was more of a concern to them than the money.
I have never had such a bad experience with my eyecare. They told me during an exam, after dilating my eyes, that the dr. I have been seeing isn't there that day. Saw a different dr. and made a follow-up in a month, only to have them tell me 2 days ahead that the dr. won't be there. Didn't set up the RX delivery of special eye drops until I texted twice and emailed the dr. Now, I am trying to schedule a followup exam with the same dr. but different location. So told them the name of the dr. I want to see, and they booked me with a different dr! Why is this so hard? Will someone from the company please reach out to me so I can get my followup scheduled!
Awful! Not going back. Because of recent surgery, had to get van service to the appt. After some testing, they dilated my eyes. THEN, a couple of staff came in and said the dr. wasn't there that day!! After they dilated my eyes!! So saw a different dr. Made a followup appt. w/her for the following month. Guess what, 2 days before the appt, (after I got several confirmation emails), they called to say the dr. wouldn't be there that day. Not only that, but it was almost impossible to get an RX filled. There's no way to call the office directly. I had to text twice and emailed the dr. before I got them to follow up. Stay away if you expect to be treated well as a patient! UPDATE: So, I changed the score from a one star to 3. I wish I could give 2 different scores--one for the drs. and one for whoever schedules the drs. A big shout out to Dr. Shay. She correctly diagnosed me with inflammation of the eyes and after a month of RX eyedrops, my vision is 20/20! No more glasses---. This is why I wanted to stay with her. And a big thumbs down to the way they move around the drs. to the different offices. If you really don't care who you see, this is the place. But trying to stick with the same dr. is hard when they are changing their schedules and locations. Even the office staff doesn't have control over their schedules.
Highly recommend Dr. Birdsong. He performed my Lasik procedure. The staff is super helpful and caring.
The staff is very professional and friendly. The big problem I have is all the "hidden" fees. I'm already out-of-pocket $1k between all the eyedrops prescribed and the mandatory evaluations required from my Primary Care Provider and a clearance from a Retina specialist. I'm having cataract surgery in two weeks. It would be helpful if I could know my final cost, however; no one claims to know what my final cost will be. I have an insurance plan in which I have to pay $8k out-of-pocket for medical expenses each year b4 the company starts paying 100 percent and it would really be helpful to know how much more I have to come up with so I can meet my deductible and not have to worry about paying for anything else the remainder of the year.
Both my wife and myself see Swartz Eye center. Very friendly and considerant employees. Doctor Swartz takes the time to sit down and answer any questions you might have. Iwould highly recommend.
Dr Birdsong is fantastic ! He was the 4rth dr to look at my eye , and figured out what the issue was very quickly , and offered a solid plan to get it addressed. Thank you , Dr Birdsong! The front desk staff was super friendly and efficient.
Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. I will be back for sure.
I went for a LASIK consultation. They dilated my pupils, which stayed dilated for over 48 hours after the appointment. They didn't notify me that the dilation could last a few days, until after I followed up with them two days after the appointment wondering what was wrong with my eyes. I knew a dilation was coming, but I assumed it would be a few hours, not a few days. The different eye center that I ended up getting LASIK at didn't need to dilate my pupils at all, as they had the retinal imaging technology that gave the doctors a view of the retina without the use of dilating drops. Also, in my opinion, their COVID protocols were a bit excessive for 2022. They taped a mask to my face in the exam room, which is actually kind of funny when I look back on it and put it in writing. I'm fully supportive of wearing masks but thought the taping was unnecessary.
This sounds like a reused line, but in all sincerity… all of the staff made me feel so comfortable during the whole process. They are people I would grab drinks with, which is great because it made me feel comfortable asking them anything and I know going forward I can reach out to them with any eye concerns or questions I may have and they will treat me like part of the family. I just had my operation so still a little blurry in recovery mode but I can already see the improvement in my sight and I am BEYOND ecstatic with the results. I can’t wait to show off my results to everyone!! PS loved the “dad” jokes before my operation!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
