List of John A. Maltry's Reviews
Did an excellent total knee replacement. I now have good knee mobility, no post op complications, and only needed pain medication for 2 days.
I made an appointment with Dr. Maltry based on his good reviews and credentials. I thought he could help me with my left hip pain. I'd been to several doctors who didn't quite find the problem. I even had an MRI on disk that I hoped he would review and go over with me. However, when I arrived in the exam room, he sent an assistant to tell me to go see their pain clinic. This assistant even went out to consult with Dr. Maltry to see if he wanted to come in to talk to me, and the assistant came back and said he would not be meeting with me. This doctor never even stuck his head in the room. I would never recommend him.
I had an appointment with Dr. Maltry for my excruciating hip pain, I even brought an MRI on disk for him to review. Dr. Maltry never even came in the room, he sent an assistant to tell me there was nothing wrong with my hip, that MRIs are unreliable. He said it was probably my back that was the problem. Meanwhile my hip is so painful I can hardly walk. I left without even seeing Mr. Maltry's face, let alone meet him.
The big problem I have with this doctor is that it seems almost impossible to get the prescription painkiller I was promised beyond the first two bottles. During my appointment with him, I told his PA I was out and needed a refill, then I told Dr. Maltry I needed a refill. This was on a Thursday. No refill was forthcoming. On Monday I called his medical assistant for a refill, and again (twice) on Tuesday. I'm writing this at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, and still, no refill. I'm suffering a lot of unnecessary pain.
Dr. Maltry is always patient and supportive. Did a great surgical job on 94 yr.old knee. Very upbeat and emphatic.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Maltry for a few years regarding my knee pain. He did everything to avoid me having a knee replacement until my pain was constant and interfering with my quality of life.
Dr. Malory was very personable and professional. I felt very comfortable and thoroughly understood the situation by the end of the visit.
Dr Maltry is always so happy & positive! He did my Mother’s knee replacement many years ago now. He will do mine when I’m ready for it. Highly recommend.
He is friendly patient and explained my issues as as giving the option of not having surgery.
Doctor Maltry actually listens !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
