List of Oro Valley Pediatrics's Reviews
Do not go to this facility. I cannot go into details but please heed my warning.
I've taken my daughter here 4 times now. Twice for well check ups and twice for sickness. Every time I've waited in a room for an hour for the doctor. Yesterday I took my daughter in and got no answers. I was told to do an X-ray and 5 pages of bloodwork. My daughter is 2! I felt like the doctor was in a rush to get to her lunch break. I am concerned and she acted like we were just an inconvenience. She asked if my daughter was going to cry when she got close to her. What's it matter? You're a doctor and she's a kid? I will be finding a new doctor for my daughter.
Poor attention to service. My son's appointment was at 9:45am for a wellness check-up and its 11:10am and we have not seen the doctor nor have we been given any explanation of his tardiness or absence. Unbelievable. Unprofessional. Rude. Disrespectful. Unacceptable. Dr. John, thank you for wasting my time and making my son miss important school classes for nothing, have a good day Sir.
MHC is destroying this place! You can't even talk to the actual office anymore. You get transferred to the MHC call center and most of the people are so rude it's unbelievable, and that's after waiting on hold for near 20 minutes! If I don't book an appointment when I'm actually at the office I can't book one, period! When it comes up urgent matters good luck even getting through to talk to a doctor. I love the staff at the actual office but MHC taking over was a big mistake.
It has become extremely difficult to get an appointment. Marana Health answers phones and are disrespectful when trying to make an appointment. Oro Valley Pediatrics used to be different when I started to taking my children in 2013. You were able to get in touch with with the office staff and make and an appointment. I'm very disappointed with the new management.
Okay, so here's the deal: we've been taking our three kids to OV Pediatrics since 2010. It used to be the best pediatric office in the Oro Valley area. Everyone I knew went there. About 5 yeas ago, they were bought by Northwest Healthcare, but things stayed relatively the same, just with a little more policies and procedures. About 1 year ago, they were bought out by Marana Health Care (MHC) and things have seriously gone downhill. We used to be able to call the office and talk to the front desk and get an appointment within 1 to 2 days for an urgent issue, but now when you call you get a MHC call center with people who tell you to go to their urgent care in Marana. It's impossible to get a hold of a doctor if you need to. The only reason we keep going there is because we have an established relationship with our pediatrician and he's good.
Dr. Honebrink is amazing. My oldest and youngest are on the autism spectrum and love her. My youngest hugs her, which for ASD kids can be a miracle itself. She is patient, kind, always takes her time, and is exceptionally attentive. My oldest had to be hospitalized for a MRSA infection, and the office called every day to check on her. I can't remember the name of the younger male doctor, but he is kind and has a wonderful bedside manner, as well. Dr. Tanase can be brusque, but she is thorough. I can't remember the name of the older male doctor, but he's great for emergencies. With 3 kids, we'v seen all doctors, but Dr. Honebrink is by far our favorite.
Very unaccommodating to large families. Phone and ancillary staff are unfriendly and there is an overarching uncaring culture throughout the practice. Dr Seward is the only redeeming quality, it’s very unfortunate.
They have amazing doctors and it's always clean. Only downside is it's usually a long wait and we're always on time.
We have really enjoyed having Dr. Roberts as our daughters Pediatrician. When he hasn’t been available for a last minute appointment we have been able to see some of the other doctors who are great as well.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
