not solid on medical knowledge...makes me question his training

Dr Shirley is personable..don't know how good he us cause i do have keloid skin so surgery left a scar and hasn't healed then reinfected...office staff nice but terrible in systems and follow through...Been trying to get back in since I made appointment went there was told they hadn't got paperwork done actuallywas just starting becauseover booking. that I needed recommendation one I already had..been waiting on call back since January 4th appointment...This is for a abscess/boil...Now I have to start process all over again...dont think they really care about your well being. Trying to get answers or a call back is non existence o was in so much pain ?? I didn't get chance to research this office wouldn't have chosen it

It's been a year since my surgery with Dr. Robert Shirley. I waited this long to post this review because I wanted to give the surgical spot a fair chance to heal right (I have been told wound scars can take about a year to heal to its permanent look). 3 things describe my experience with Dr Shirley: 1. Bait and switch 2. Bad Stitches and Wound Dressing, 3.The misinformation I definitely will not be recommending Dr. Robert Shirley of Southwest Surgical Center to anyone. He needs to go back to medical school. If you are black - run! All these doctors care about is your money and insurance payment. The moment things go awry like giving you an avoidable scar, their default answer is “Oh…black people tend to get keloids.” Well Dr Shirley, this is not my first surgery, I don’t get keloids. I came in to remove a lipoma that was getting very visible and you have left me with a scar that is even more conspicuous than the lipoma you removed. If there was a 0 star that is what I would assign.

He is very personable and able and confident. Great temperament in handling ‘101 questions’ regarding pre and post surgery stuff. He has helped my wife with her gall bladder issues and myself with a hernia. Thank you Dr Shirley

Dr Shirley and his staff were very professional and friendly. I was able to get an appointment on a short notice, I was in so much pain but thanks to Dr Shirley and his nurse, I’m back to almost 100% within few hours after leaving his office!
