List of Paul Gawelko's Reviews
This office scheduled our annual exams last year. My husband, who is a heart patient, ran out of his medication. We are scheduled for our annual exams on May 9th, today is May 1. This doctor refused to give my husband his medication which cannot be stopped once its started and his reason is that my husband has not been seen in a year. HIS OFFICE scheduled this appointment, why do that? What about the oath he took. We have NEVER been treated so horribly by a call center "Shareka" or a doctor with no concern for his patients. If you value your life, find another doctor. Someone who has a phone in their office and not some low wage earner who answers important calls about your health!
Called to tell the Dr. Gawelko I was running late for my sceduled appointment. Was told I would have to re-schedule. I was able to make it on time after all and was told the Dr.Gawelko was on his way to lunch but he would see me. he did not weigh me take my temperture or any regular check-ups that I was used to when visiting a doctor. I needed to see him to get refills for my prescriptions. He acted like he was "put out" by seeing me. never asked me any questions and I was out after five minutes.
PLEASE DONT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A UNDERLYING DISEASE I have gone to doctor Gawelko for 7 years and everytime I come in he doesn’t stay in the room any longer then 5-10 minutes always leaving me with a NP, He doesn’t care to listen to his patients and the symptoms of pain they are going through. I have been having a lot of neuropathy, bruising very easily, can’t seem to keep weight on after pregnancy.... the list goes on. After going to him so many times ($30 here 30$ there copays) for the same symptoms and never getting answers or any help I decided to take matters in my own hands and have gotten much farther! Sad to say but I will never return back to this doctor after so much time & money wasted.
Great---the complaints above seem to me, to be patients that are not fully informed and want to be "hand fed", along with not knowing that doctors have to be extremely careful when prescribing any sort of drug. The doctor is great by any standard.
I would not recommend him, wasted my time and money neglecting to tell me to fast before a blood test. Refused to discuss results or any questions despite me paying for 2 visits to get a simple prescription refill. Gave poor or little advice in writing only.
Dr. Gawelko has been my PCP for the past three years. I am a retired medical malpractice attorney so I think I have a pretty good idea how to evaluate a doctor. In my opinion, Dr. Paul Gawelko is lacking many of the basic qualifications required to be a good and caring doctor. His evaluations are not the most thorough and he seems to have a difficult time listening or is simply not interested. He definitely is not one to be relied upon when it comes to your health. Needless to say, he is longer my PCP.
Beware! Gawelko had me take my annual blood test without telling me I needed to fast. Some results requiring fasting were not accurate. Waste of time and money. Annual physical was worthless when I told him I had back pain. He never examined my back. He was non - responsive when I needed an x-ray order from my physical therapist. After going to Urgent Care 3 days late, it turns out I had a fractured T-9.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
